It is the oldest temple in Korea, and it has a beautiful garden including a philosophical way. In fact, it is hard to visit without a car. It is worth to hire a car.

Bogyeongsa Temple

The temple is okay but the hike is amazing! Me and a buddy hiked to all 12 waterfalls. It was a beautiful hike. There are miles and miles of trails out there but the trails to the 12 waterfalls are very well maintained by the city or whoever maintains it. If you are in Pohang, you have to plan a day here. You don’t have to be in great shape to do this hike. Also, there’s a cool little strip of restaurants right outside the temple. We had dinner at “#8”. Super cool ladies there that didn’t speak a word of English and we didn’t speak any Korean but we had a great time there.

Dosanseowon Confucian School

Reviewed By 899jocelynw - Gumi, South Korea

Dosanseowon Confucian School is a bit more difficult to access than other tourist sites, but it is well worth the trip. From the parking lot and ticket office, it is a short walk down a dirt path. It is situated by the lake and has many benches perfect for sitting and soaking in nature. Inside the school there are signs in several languages identifying the buildings and giving important facts regarding the history of the school.

Weolyeonggyo Bridge

Reviewed By chrisruggaluffagus - Yorktown, United States

This is such a great spot for all members of the family. I recommend arriving 1-2 hours before sunset. Take a walk around to see the different perspectives of this wonderful bridge. The museum and folk village are nearby. You can make a full day of it here. There are few cafes and restaurants nearby you can rest at, eat, and wait until after sundown to see it all lit up. It is truly beautiful in the day and at night. I recommend not parking at the first main parking lot, but follow the road around to the secondary parking areas or park near the museum. The history and naming are posted in my pictures.

Andong Maskdance Festival

Reviewed By N8859GNameliam - London, United Kingdom

There were traditional experience centers where you could try making your own masks, as well as the performance that happens throughout the day. You have to buy a ticket to watch but it's worth it. It's something that is specific to Andong itself, and you can't find any place in Korea where the culture is so preserved and revered in such a fashion.
