This UNESCO world heritage site famous for its karst landform with several major attractions within the 9 sq kilometers of park. It includes three natural bridges, the gorge valley, the Tianmen Cave Bridge, Furong caves, 45 degree Pingange Cableway, and Fairy Mt with the Mist Pavilion. You need more than one day to cover several main attractions, and even more for the entire park. This amazing and picturesque creation of mother nature easily rivals any of the natural world wonders. In areas without people you are rewarded with the tranquility of nature, and wonderful rich oxygen – often lost within the large cities of China. The mighty Yangtze River has spent thousands of years cutting through the mountains and creating this magnificent long narrow gorge with steep walls, limestone formations, caves, and underground rivers. It has only been opened to the public since 2014. The gorge walkway, 1500 meters in length, hangs from the 500 meter cliff walls about 100 meters of the canyon floor. In some areas the gorge narrows to only several metres wide. A must visit “world class” attraction.

We visited during Golden Week in the morning (ticket office opens 7.30AM). Crowds not too bad. The elevator down seemed only option, we could not find the path down. Price: 110RMB incl elevator and shuttle bus. You need around 2hrs in total. Very beautiful area, worth the visit when you are in Chongqing.
