We stayed 3 nights in pro hides in the forest and on the marshland. It is a nice (about 1,5 km) walk through the forest to the hides. One man hides are excellent for taking low level photos. There were lots of bears with cubs too, it was a great experience to watch them playing and climbing up the trees. Friendly staff and great accomodation with good food.

Saana

This recognizable fell is located in the village of Kilpisjarvi. You can climb to the top of the fell (1029m) along a trail which starts at the Kilpisjarvi tourist centre. Scrambling up to the top of Saana is a challenge worth doing. The longest set of stairs in Finland helps you at the steepest part of the four kilometer journey. From the top of the Saana you can see for miles!

Reviewed By MKJokela - Lohja, Finland

The trail begins from a parking slot of Malla naturalpark. The trail was in very good condition for about the first couple of kilometers. From there the rest of the route was a gently sloping rocky "path". The "path" was marked with black sticks but basically you could walk where ever on the top of Saana. This phase of the climb seemed to be never ending but the hike was totally worth the scenery at the top of Saana.

Urho Kekkonen National Park

Reviewed By Minion_adventurer - Southern Finland, Finland

As the second biggest National Park in Finland this park offers peace and tranquility just few steps from the center of Saariselkä village. You have easy walking routes coming to the border and then short and longer snowshoeing trail. Short one you can do on any weather but the longer one takes you up on the fjell so you don't want to take that in a bad weather. Skiing tracks are going more deeply inside the park. At the summer hiking routes are going everywhere.
