Glenfarclas Distillery

Of all the distilleries visited on Speyside and Islay , this tour was the best . The guide was knowledgeable and informative, the distillery was medium sized and family owned and managed which is refreshing among all the large corporate owned businesses.

Booked a Distillery tour for me and my partner with 7 tastings which was amazing. Firstly it was very easy to book via email. Lauren the person who organised it was very helpful and friendly. Once we arrived onsite we headed into the shop where we took our temperatures for covid and we greeted in a very friendly manner. We were the only people on the tour so it was like our own private tour and tasting. Our tour guide Natasha was very knowledgeable and friendly, and answered all our questions very well while we were on the tour. The tasting was great and it was lovely to be able to taste all the whisky's they had, next to one another, my partner was driving so he even got to take the whisky away in little bottles to try when we got home. Definitely worth a visit!

Benromach

Located on the outskirts of the ancient market town of Forres lies Benromach Distillery. From a small and almost lost distillery emerged a single malt withdistinctive qualities reflecting its hand made credentials as well as encapsulating the self-reliance, sophistication and modern values of Scotland today.Established in 1898, the distillery experienced many closures and changes in ownership prior to 1993, when malt whisky specialists, Gordon & MacPhail rescued it. Following an extensive reinstallation project, embracing the distillery's original character, Benromach was officially re-opened by HRH The Prince of Wales in 1998.Just three experienced distillers create Benromach using the finest Scottish barley and the purest spring water from the nearby Romach Hills. They personally ensure that only the highest quality spirit is filled into sturdy oak casks before being left to mature at Benromach Distillery for many years.

Myself and 8 others on a Rabbie's Tour enjoyed a fabulous distillery tour and tasting at Benromach. Though a small distillery, they truly care about their products, they act like a team/family, and have staff who truly love what they do!! Alec was our guide, and if possible, ask for him--he was witty, had great stories, and spewed passion for the product!! As for the tasting, we got to try 3 expressions, with proper tasting drams, and Alec walked us through each and what made them unique, their main character elements, and how they all tie into the Benromach line. I absolutely love the tour, am a new fan (and member) of Benromach whiskies, and cannot wait to go back with my wife for a more extensive and detailed tasting--it will literally be the first distillery we visit when I return with her to Scotland. They are that good!!!

Popped in here whilst waiting for my husband and a friend who were walking the coastal path. Packed full of information about the local fishing industry and the people involved. A fantastic bunch of gentlemen who volunteered. They were informative, friendly and couldn’t do more to make me feel welcome. They made me a lovely cup of tea and shared some homemade banana bread, which was delicious. When my husband and friend arrived, more tea and banana bread and lots of chat. An absolutely delightful place to visit.

Have been staying in Lossiemouth for two weeks so have had two visits. I'm not a beer drinker but my husband is so we booked a table. I thought as I was there I'd try a beer, Andy recommended Blonde and Hurricane for me.....I'm now a beer drinker! The other member of staff who was working was Gemma, she had really great local knowledge as well and beside the beer both Gemma and Andy made the visits really great. The takeaway service is good too.

Amazing day here...the hardwear is fascinating and you can get inside most of the planes and press buttons and imagine you are soaring through the sky..I loved the Russian plane and the Nimrod.....but the best part of the day were the amazing, enthusiastic, knowledgeable, approachable ex servicemen staff...all of whom showed a passion for preserving these wonderful planes and helicopters. The star show at the end was ...bizzare and brilliant ....!!!

Nestled at the foot of Ben Rinnes, in the heart of Speyside, lies The GlenAllachie Distillery (Est 1967). Acquired in 2017, The GlenAllachie Distillery is 100% Scottish owned and managed, making us one of the few independently owned distilleries in Scotland. The most exciting part of rediscovering a brand is learning about the depth, character and quality that lies deep within each cask - we've unlocked an exceptional single malt, do you dare to discover? Amazing tasting with Graham and Karen. With the unknowns around COVID at the moment we had booked in to do a tour and tasting and had great communication from Karen beforehand. On the day of the tasting we were warmly greeted by Graham and Karen and followed the COVID secure rules. The tasting included 4 drams and a wee glass to take away. Graham ran the tasting and his knowledge was fantastic , guiding us through a virtual tour of the distillery and the tasting of the drams. He was full of whisky knowledge and could answer all our questions. The handmade still & mash tun were brilliant. In the shop the service was equally as friendly and it ended a wonderful visit to the distillery. Would highly recommend a visit.
