Scenic Road Cider Co.

The Scenic Road Cider Co. is an absolute hidden gem. If you're a cider fan visiting Kelowna (or even local to) you have to check this place out. We visited in the early afternoon, a quick pit stop on the Friday of my bachelorette weekend and were warmly greeted by Taylor when we walked in. After a quick ID check we were offered samples of their 3 ciders (and apple juice for our DD). All were absolutely delicious, although the dry was definitely our favourite (& only 5g sugar per bottle - bonus!). Taylor also gave us a knowledgable tour of the brewing area and gave us a great insight into the cider making process. We bought a case of cider before we left with 10% off the price of this. This cidery and orchard is small, friendly and welcoming and the grounds & barn are oh, so cute. If you're in the area - for sure put this place on your visit list!

Discover the natural and human history of Kelowna. Museums are living places, and that’s true of Kelowna’s flagship museum, the Okanagan Heritage Museum too. In fact, the entire permanent gallery has been reimagined! In spring 2019, we wrapped up a multi-year process that saw us overhaul our entire permanent gallery. Pay us a visit and enjoy our ‘new’ museum. Experience fascinating displays and learn how the Okanagan valley was formed, and why it supports tremendous biodiversity. Step into the world of the syilx/Okanagan people, and gain insights into their close connection to the land. Learn about the arrival of traders and settlers, and peer into the windows of an original “Chinatown” shop. Meet some individuals from Kelowna’s past and present, and be inspired by the Central Okanagan Sports Hall of Fame. This museum is also home to two important facilities: the Kelowna Public Archives and the Ursula Surtees Regional Conservation Laboratory.

St Hubertus & Oak Bay Estate Winery

The St Hubertus & Oak Bay Vineyards were originally planted in 1928 By J.W. Hughes during a time when agricultural land was plentiful.Since 1984 the Gebert Familys use sustainable farming practices on their 76 acre vineyard to produce wines that reflect the terroir of the north Okanagan Valley under the St Hubertus & Oak Bay Label. In 2003 the Okanagan Mountain Wild Fire destroyed the original winery and over 200 houses.

This review is a little late but I had to make sure to write one! Back in August my partner & spent a day wine tasting in Kelowna. We specifically chose wineries that were dog friendly - we were so excited that Cedar Creek was on that list! We pre booked a tasting & upon arrival our server explained that there were pairing options we could add on (so of course we did!) Although this was definitely pricey it was so so worth it. We loved Cedar Creek - the wine was amazing, the tasting room staff incredibly knowledgeable, the property is gorgeous and most of all our dog was treated like a queen by every staff member in the place! We joined up with the wine club & will certainly be back for another visit soon. Highly recommend!!! I also wanted to say that the gentleman helping us out was beyond fabulous. I can’t remember his name but longer blonde hair. Please give him some extra kudos!

Had stopped at another winery, saw signs for House of Rose so started driving....and driving. But once we got there, we were so glad we made the trip. The staff were so friendly and chatty, shared some lovely wines with us, and made recommendations to other wineries based on our tastes, even took out a map and highlighted other wineries. A real gem, we hope to be back.

Enjoyed a VIP tour with Clarissa, and got to walk the vines, and see great integration of sustainable practices, and investment in wine made in harmony with nature. Whether its the bees, the deer, birds, or pests, these folks are the winery of the future, reducing the carbon footprint, and producing some unique wines, where, after touring the land, I understand better than ever, how the terroir comes through. Look for this winery to make an impression.

We needed a break from wine tasting so we booked this spirit tasting. Learned a lot of about the art of whiskey and vodka making along with how to make liqueurs from your favourite fruits. We highly recommend this if you are in Kelowna or Vernon.
