Steamship Shieldhall

The Steamship Shieldhall is the largest working steam ship in Britain. A member of the National Historic Fleet she serves as a sea going tribute to Britain's maritime heritage. As a passenger you too can experience the golden age of steam by booking on an excursion or visiting her in Southampton.

The 2 of us enjoyed a fantastic time onboard the Shieldhall thanks to its amazing team of knowledgeable and friendly volunteers working in the engine room, on the bridge, at the shop/restaurant, on deck including a commentator on all landmarks we passed . They made a huge impression on my son who is a typical 'teen'. The vessel is very stable and I did not feel seasick, nor did I see the 3 hours pass by as we spent our time visiting the engine room as well as the bridge and every other part of the ship. We had a fab time! Suitable for e very age group.

Seven Sisters Country Park

Trek to Seven Sisters Country Park, Eastbourne When I overheard about this place from a friend somehow it fascinated me and then did a research about this place Time to visit and how long it takes to cover the entire place. So made sure I have prepared myself well as this one demands one to be fit physically It is a stunning circular walk that takes in Birling Gap, Seven Sisters and Friston Forest. This walk is just under 8 miles / 13km in length and should take about 8 hours to walk as it is a rough stretch. It is the highest chalk sea cliff in Britain, rising to 162 metres (531 ft) above sea level. It attracts nearly half a million visitors each year We have loads of things to do one can Walk to the beach along the easy access trail And then enjoy the stunning scenery, especially the great views from the top of the Seven Sisters cliffs and hillsides Got a chance to check out the great wildlife including wading birds on the beach and at the coastguard huts, flowers and butterflies on the hillsides, and the fascinating pebble beach Point to note – it can get extremely windy so make sure to wear warmer clothing if it's later in the year. Would recommend going on a sunny day so you can get better views of the cliffs and the hills. Took a bus from Brighton to Seven Sisters country park visitor center, Take a Brighton Hover bus saver ticket at the Brighton center 12, 12x and 13x are the buses. Takes about 45 minutes to reach. Be ready with you camera as you pass glorious landscapes and beautiful country side. Get down at Cuckmere Inn and then follow the map. Pit Stop 1 – Cuckmere Inn Pit Stop 2 – Coast guard huts from there you can enjoy the sweeping views across the sea to the Seven Sisters and Belle Tout lighthouse.????????‍♂️ Pit Stop 3- Head to the beach from the coast guard huts spend some time by the beach????????‍♂️ Pit Stop 4 – Walk up the cliffs and then walk across the 7 hills and reach the end point – Belle Tout lighthouse.????????‍♂️ Best time to Visit: - During Spring and post monsoon season Timing to visit: Every day 11.00am to 4.00pm Entry fee: - There is no entry fee its free but do make sure you visit Seven Sisters country park visitor center and grab a quick bite before you head to and then collect a copy of the map at the visitor centre. On the whole all I say is - Travel opens your heart, broadens your mind and fills your life with stories to tell!???? Great memories happen when you wake up backpack and Travel ????????????‍♂️????????????‍♂️????

We had a fantastic, memorable family experience here! The session was very well organised and managed, the staff were very friendly and knowledgeable, the animals were all well cared for and loved, and there were lovely extra touches such as the tea and cake, feeding the other animals as well as the alpacas, and the sweet little shop of souvenirs! The booking system was straightforward and effective, with clear information on what to expect and how to come prepared, as well as reminders running up to the event. Come and Join us here in Otterbourne Hampshire, when the weather is good we like to be outside trekking or walking Alpacas. This allows you the general public to come and get up close to these beautiful animals, hear them hum to each other, feel how soft their fleece is and look into their big brown eyes! It also serves us a purpose as we get them used to people and being handled on the halters,

Visited henstings this a.m. for my bday gift experience, & it was truly amazing! I enjoyed all aspects off the keepers role, as well as the nice bits included. I got to bottle feed a baby alpaca, handfeed older ones, plus llamas, and take many photos of my lovely morning. I walked pearl, and learned so much about these lovely animals. My day was made so much nicer by the lovely staff who are all so nice. A special mention to katrina who made my morning as an 'apprentice' fun, and i will definately come back again soon. Xx

Great tour of a little zoo with a personal guide who had limitless patience for questions and was clearly passionate about her animals. Highlight was half an hour inside the meerkat enclosure with a dozen of the little creatures clambering all over us. Enjoyed by children (aged 7 and 9) and adults alike. Total duration two hours.
