This is one of the most spectacular views and landscapes in my opinion. The rice terraces are over 1000 years old and it is impressive to see how it was built back in those days where they did not have electricity and modern heavy machinery. The villages are still quite disconnected from the world - not many spots where you have good WiFi coverage- especially around Batad. That’s not necessarily a bad thing as you’re assured of time away from the usual city life and enjoy nature in the best way possible. The villagers are very friendly and welcoming. Getting there - take a bus from Manila, about 8 hours by road. Tickets can be booked online quite easily. Please beware of the extreme AC in the Coda (purple) bus!! Carry jackets n cover yourself to survive. They DO NOT adjust the temperature even if you’re freezing! Once there I think 2 days is more than enough to cover the region and visit all the important spots - Banaue view point, Batad village and view point, Ducligan Snake river, San Fernando, etc. I stayed at Bogah home stay and had an absolutely AMAZING experience. I recommend getting in touch with Denwil ([email protected]) who can organize everything at pretty good deals. I even got to stay with his family in Batad and help them harvest the rice :) one of the highlights of my trip and something that you can do in June-July if the rice is ready for harvest. The hikes are definitely not easy so recommend good hiking shoes and appropriate hiking clothes/gear. Do go with a guide to ensure you’re headed on the right path. It’s quite slippery - especially after rains. Food is good - not great. Carry your own supply of snacks etc. to be safe. Not too many shops sound so good to stock up on the necessities. Rice wine is also something worth trying - I got lucky to get some of the fresh distilled wine from the freshly harvested rice and it was GOOD! :) Overall - I definitely think it’s a MUST DO while in Philippines. Really amazing and experience that you will remember over time.

It is definitely worthy being of “7 Natural Wonder of the World and UNESCO World Heritage Site” Apart from unique flora and some unique species such as frogs, bats, and birds inside . Its also recently discovered there are waterfall, massive rock and other sea creatures but not yet accessible by boat . 8 km long, but we can only access 1,3 km as you need special permits for further inside❤️ .

Mt. Pulag stands as Luzon’s highest peak,at 2,926 meters above sea level.visitors can catch glimpses of the Milky Way Galaxy at dawn . Referred as Sea of clouds. Very nice Picturesque > Four trails take you up the mountain for for few you need prior permission from DENR. Its also famous International destination for people who love nature , hike and galaxy.

Amazed by the stone formations. Adventure is somehow slippery so dont wear slippers that are hard, much better if slip resistant. Dont wear fancy clothes, an outdoor outfit would do since u'll get wet by the cold water that is flowing inside. Lucky we have an accomodating guide named artuto which is clearly a veteran in giving tours.

The highlight of our visit to Bicol was Mayan Volcano. We stayed in a hotel Casablanca suites in Legaspi that overlooked Mount Mayan and Lignon Hill. We captured great views from Lignon Hill and had fun with the zip line. I would strongly recommend a visual to Daraga Cathedral as it is an awesome church and also has great views. We visited the Caswaga ruins and rounded out our visit with a trip up the Mountain on the road to Tobaco PH. It is not well marked so you will need to be observant. The windy road is several kilometers long but well worth the vistas of the shoreline and mountain though you will probably be in the clouds and not see the top.

We spent a fun couple of hours at the waterfalls. Beautiful blue water. We arrived with our scooter, there is parking for them just at the entrance to the falls, parking fee is going by donations, so you pick how much you want to pay, and those guys really watch over the scooters. The entrance fee is normally 10 php, but we got there early so no one was there, we got in for free. There are 3 Tarzan swings, different heights, 50 php for unlimited swings. They are really fun, I was scared before the first swing but you just have to go and after that it was just all fun. Then you can stand under the smaller falls to get a nice shoulder / back massage and just lounge in the water. There are some vendors there, I think they open around 9 to buy some food. We got there around 7:30/8:00 and it wasn't crowded at all, so I would suggest to go early. It's definitely worth a visit!

Loved the whole adventure of getting to the caves in the motor boat and then the trip in the Kayak up the river to the swimming hole. Caves are amazing and the guide was so knowledgable and interesting, loved his humour.

Chris guides this trek for 18yrs. very fit guy. knows the route inside out and the villagers along the trek. lots of knowledge. we chat everything under the sun. he is not pushy, followed my pace and gave me time for pictures. 2 routes available: route 1 (loop): start at casaroro falls entrance, twin falls, kaipohan sulphur vents, lake nailig, summit, back to lake nailig, lake yagumyum, sulphur vents, return to entrance of casaroro falls. route 2 (transverse): start at casaroro falls entrance, twin falls, kaipohan sulphur vents, lake nailig, summit, back to lake nailig, lake yagumyum, end at bidiao at dauin which is also at dauin geothermal exploration project. trek from casaroro falls to summit is 10km. from summit to bidiao is 7km. althou the 7km seems shorter, it is not easy getting down as most of the rocks were covered with green moss and slippery tree roots. trek is usually done in 2days where you camp at lake nailig. the temp at the lake can dip to 10degrees or lower. not wanting to subject myself to torture and bringing additional load, i opt for route 2, day hike, 2L water, packed lunch, wore a tshirt and shorts, trek shoes with good tracksion, good socks!, started at 6am. bring plaster in case of blisters or paste it over toes beforehand. wear long pants n long sleeves if you are afraid of getting cuts by tall grass or plants. there is no mosquito and buys but alot of spider webs. took me 4hrs from start to summit and 4hrs from summit to bidiao. i am a avid trekker, fit and my pace was fast with rest points while taking pics along the trek, the summit and a 15mins lunch. trekking permit is required for the trek and the route can be confusing for many as there were many routes on the mountain without signages. glad i hired a guide! if you are trekking this for the first time, start early and expect double the time required. the steps up are very high and requires you holding to the roots to pull urself up and some crawling on all fours to squeeze your way under fallen trees.
