The political, scientific, historical, architectural and business center of Russia, Moscow displays the country's contrasts at their most extreme. The ancient and modern are juxtaposed side by side in this city of 10 million. Catch a metro from one of the ornate stations to see Red Square, the Kremlin, the nine domes of St. Basil's Cathedral, Lenin's Mausoleum, the KGB Museum and other symbols of Moscow's great and terrible past, then lighten up and shop Boulevard Ring or people watch in Pushkin Square.

Pinballs or pinball machines was very popular in the 60-70 years, but cause of modern computer technology, now they are almost forgotten. Single copies can now only be found in old hotels or small shopping centers. Fans of Pinball around the world collect and restore machines and the biggest collections became museums and exhibitions.

I visited this park (and three adjoining others straight on from it) during my last stay in Russia. It was a scorchingly hot day, and it was so lovely. You can amble around and the park is quiet and well kept. There are some absolute gems dotted around the park. It's also perfectly located- you can walk around the Moscow River, see the old Red October Chocolate Factory and Statue of St Peter the Great, all along the way. And then straight on, there are many other lovely parks too. Perfect on a hot summer day!

Gorky Park Museum, an observation deck with binoculars, a lecture hall and a souvenir shop at the main entrance to the park.
What a wonderfully joyful place Beautifully maintained and laid out. LOTS to do for all ages Bikes, scooters, 4 wheel bikes etc etc for hire (though some were somewhat fast on them). Plenty of eating places from snack carts to serious restaurants Ranks amongst one of the best cosmopolitan city parks we have ever been to
