The 10 Best Spas & Wellness in Northern Kyoto, Kinki

April 9, 2022 Franklyn Hardiman

The shrines and temples of Kyoto offer a rare link between modern life in the city and its very ancient past. The Shimogamo Shrine dates to the 6th century and seems suspended in time, its serenity and spiritual power still palpable. Visit Fushimi Inari Shrine, then see the life-sized Thousand Armed Kannon statues of Sanjūsangen-dō. Enjoy traditional geisha performances, then savor a tranquil meal at a restaurant overlooking the Kamo River.

CrossFit Kyoto

Konnichiwa! Est. in 2011 as the first CrossFit Box in Kansai (Kyoto/Osaka/Kobe area) Crossfit Kyoto draws on over 8 yrs of experience in coaching all levels & ages. (Head coach is an CF L3 trainer). We offer small personal classes (max 8 ppl), fun workouts and love to welcome CrossFit enthusiasts from all over the world. We are located in the heart of Kyoto, a 15 min subway ride from Kyoto Station, 5 min walk from Kitaoji subway station. Enjoy our place as one of your sight seeing spots: We renovated a Japanese public bath, left some of the old bath tubs as a community space & turned others into shower cubicles. We enjoy hanging out together in one of our baths drinking tea & exchanging ideas about the 'Way of Fitness' to inspire great health on all levels. Come for a workout after visiting Daitokuji, the Golden Temple, Kitano shrine, the Imperial Palace Garden or the Kyoto Botanical Garden, or after a leisurely stroll along Kamogamo river-all within a short distance from our box.
