The 10 Best Shopping Malls in Utah, United States

October 2, 2021 Marianna Hollaway

Welcome to “The Greatest Snow on Earth” – Utah’s paradise for all outdoor enthusiasts! As host of the 2002 Winter Olympics, Park City knows how to entertain winter fun seekers. Snowboarders and skiers head for miles of spectacular slopes with deep fluffy powder and breathtaking mountain views. The Olympic Park provides family-friendly ski programs, rides and shows. Alta, Sundance, Snowbird and Brighton are other popular destinations for cross country and Alpine skiers. Those alluring snowy slopes turn to rolling wildflower fields in the summer. Golfing, fishing, horseback riding and water sports replace chilly outdoor sports adventures. Corral the family, pack a picnic and catch one of the ski lifts for an afternoon of hiking or mountain biking along scenic trails. Head to Salt Lake City, where Temple Square hosts millions of visitors a year. Bryce Canyon and Arches National Park are famous for surreal landscapes from horseshoe-shaped amphitheaters to unusual rock formations and hundreds of natural sandstone arches. Closer to home, wander along the quaint main streets of mountain villages to browse, shop and enjoy lunch at an outdoor café. At the end of the day, head home for an outdoor barbecue and an evening of games. Home rentals blend privacy, space and comfort with the cost-saving advantage of eating some meals at home.

Station Park

Very upscale and scenic. This is a large, multi-street, outside retail venue (think H&M and Sephora) that is especially beautiful and quaint at night due to the white twinkle lights, large fireplaces, benches, and overhead music. Many places are open late in here. Be prepared to walk a bit if you are retail shopping, unless you can find parking along the streets in front of the stores. Be sure not to miss the outstanding restaurants and eateries located deep within the retail area. The more common eateries like Panda Express and Chick Fil-A are located across the parking lot near the very popular Nordstrom Rack and Home Goods.

Instead of lugging our boots, skis and poles through airports, we chose to rent newer equipment for our week vacation in Park City (we did pack helmets). After reading many Trip Advisor reviews, we settled on Park City Sport on Main, and everything worked out great. We reserved three performance packages online in advance for myself, my wife, and our grown daughter, saving 20 percent. Two great features that they offered (some other places did too) were: 1. Storing the equipment overnight for free (we didn’t do it) and 2. Allowing renters to return the equipment for a day off from the slopes, saving a day’s charges (we did this and saved $91). We got some of the exact same equipment back; otherwise we got the same make/model. If we knew in advance that we weren’t going to take a day off, we could have paid in advance and saved an additional 3 percent. The boot fitting and ski and pole selection was quick and efficient. We got skis that were wider and slightly shorter than our own, which worked well with lots of snow. And changing equipment was easy — I changed my boots twice and probably should have chosen the next larger size. The staff is friendly, helpful and knowledgeable — and they recommended several great restaurants to boot (pun intended). I even used them as a quasi-information center, calling a few times before our trip to ask about ski passes and Park City (it was our first time there). One other tip: there are FIVE locations, all with different names (they’re listed on website under locations; some close earlier than others). You can reserve in advance and indicate which one you’ll use, but go to any of them once you’re in Park City. BUT, once you get your equipment, you must return it to that shop. Definitely recommend Park City Sport.

It is always a busy mall. If you have little ones, the Weber state playground is a fun stop. It is accessible with really nice elevators. Personally I really like the Boxlunch store and the food court. It has a lot of really diverse options.

I really like this mall! It has a lot of variety in shops and food options. The mall is kept clean and there is a train that takes kids around the mall. It’s $4 but children under 2 can ride free with an adult. There is a huge arcade called Round 1. It was awesome to run around and so many arcade games. The Homegoods store is huge and a wide selection of clearance items.
