Dead Gallery/Studio

Dead Gallery is run by artist, Jón Saemundur (b. 1968). It was established in 2003 and is a storefront and exhibition place for Jon's artwork and designs. Available are unique hand-printed items such as T-shirts, posters and prints. Death and life has been an important theme in Jón's work for the past years and his most known work is the Dead concept, which he started in 2003 till this day.

In Pálshús, the new location of the Nature Museum in Ólafsfjördur, a new permanent exhibition called "The Desire to Fly" has been set up. This exhibition covers Icelandic bird flora and examines the human desire to take flight. Pálshús is one of the oldes houses in Ólasfjördur. Exhibition of Magnús Gamalíelsson marine indudstry has also been set up, as he played a large role in the community.
