The 10 Best Shopping in Holland, Michigan (MI)

June 9, 2021 Margarita Chappel

Founded by Dutch Calvinists in 1847, the city of Holland, Michigan, is an outpost of Dutch culture and tradition in the midst of the American Midwest, home to dikes, canals and even an authentic Dutch windmill. Proud of its heritage, the city purchased 100,000 tulip bulbs from the Netherlands back in 1927, and these colorful flowers still fill the city's gardens and parks with color annually, just in time for the famous Tulip Time Festival, attended by over half a million people every year.

Abundance of fresh, local fruits and vegetables, local honey, pastries and breads, including several gluten and dairy/vegan free options (the blueberry gluten free donuts were amazing!). Holland Clock Company

Reviewed By Justtellmewheretogo

I took my cuckoo clock which was broken and had not been used in 16+ years to the Holland Clock Company for repairs. The owner, Dan, repaired and cleaned the clock so that it looks and works as if it were brand new. The store itself is chock-full of beautiful items made in Germany such as an amazing variety of cuckoo clocks, smokers, nutcrackers, music boxes, Christmas ornaments, Christmas pyramids, etc. I hope his shop is there for years to come because there are so many items I hope to purchase.
