St. Andrew's United Reformed Church

St Andrew's is known as the 'non-conformist cathedral'. Its 175 ft high spire towers above the South Cliff of Scarborough. Built in 1864 for the Revd. Robert Balgarnie, it was funded by Sir Titus Salt, of Saltaire and other local investors. Built in Early English Gothic style, St Andrew's contains some fine examples of Wailes' stained glass. It is also home to heritage chapel with a large archive, a detailed model of medieval Scarborough. The exterior of the church is open during daylight, and the interior is open at various times during the holiday season.

Saint Wilfrid's Church

Visit the only Grade 1 listed building in the heart of Harrogate. Saint Wilfrid's church was designed by the famous architect Temple Moore in the early 1900's. The church is very striking architecturally, with some excellent examples of stained glass, a stunning parish hall with an unusual "lamella" ceiling, cloisters and free car parking. St Wilfrid's is open every day for visits and services.

Burnsall Church

Reviewed By richardcS3512HO

Burnsall is a beautiful dales village and the grade 1 listed church of st wilfred's is no exception. Stone sculptures with connections to the vikings are exhibited at the back of the church. The building itself is picture postcard material. It forms just small part of why this village in the dales is much loved and visited. Dont forget the Red Lion and the lovely riverside walk to Linton falls and Grassington, via the rope bridge. There are great village cafe's and the owner's are really welcoming. Plenty car parking too!
