We made a detour to Tinmal Mosque while driving from Marrakesh to Taroudant along Tizi n Test. From outside, it's hard to appreciate the mosque, as the exterior looks more like a castle ruin than a mosque ruin. This is one of the only two mosques in the whole Morocco that are open to non-Muslims. There is a caretaker who lives in the village with the key to the place. The day when we visited, he was waiting outside and told us we were the second couple he received during that day. The entrance fee is by donation, we paid 5 euro when we visited. The inside is amazing albeit a bit run down in places. If you are a couple, the caretaker is more than happy to take your photos. We spent about 40 minutes inside and had a wonderful time.

located in the Mellah former jewish area inside the medina this place need your support, all around the buildings are collapsed due to the lack of maintenance and the strong weather condition, the guide is so helpful and knows a lot about jewish culture and the city history take time to discuss with him, nice ambiance, so spiritual

A must see site when visiting Marrakech. The grounds are kind the mosque are beautiful. The inside of the Mosque is equally beautiful with stunning architecture. The mosque is the prominent site in Medina and can be seen from most places. Bring a Muslim, I attended Friday prayers at the mosque and would highly recommend this to any Muslim visitors. Be advised to get there early however, as it does get extremely busy.

Unfortunately the Kasbah mosque can only live in the shadow of the beautiful Koutoubia Mosque. However, the Kasbah Mosque deserve more than a look. Often are the doors open and one can have a peek at the inside displaying its sobriety but also its profound spirituality. The Mosque has been renovated and can be now seen from all sides. Some details are funny as shown in the picture.

A long and winding journey resulted in us visiting the main synagogue of the Mellah of Marrakesh. A tranquil haven with a good history trail and an explanatory film in a number of languages including English. Only 10 MAD entrance fee to a magical place in the hustle and bustle of the vibrant Red City.
