I planned the stay as a treat to my wife as it was her desired property, she always wanted to visit and I wanted to make it special for her and same was mentioned to Burhan who was handling our stay. He made all arrangements as I asked and it turned out to be wonderful and memorable. Entire staff is very kind and helpfull. The property itself is located at an excellent location. It is worth staying at Vivanta if you are in Srinagar.

The beautiful Premium Kolu Group Of Houseboats and the beauty of cobalt Kashmir Dal lake are forever ready to arrest you and make you proud that you are a part of this magnificient country India Kolu Group Of Houseboats was built in the year 1940 and ever since then we are pleased to be at your service. The name of our first house boat was Shellanne which was built by Mohammad Kolu in the year1940.Later on,in the year 1944, two more houseboats came in to operations which were supposed to be the very first special class houseboats in Dal Lake. These two special class house boats were built by a joint venture of four Kolu brothers and they were named as Shabash and New Shellanne respectively. The four brother's joint venture consisted of Ahmed Kolu, Jumma Kolu, Ghulam Qudir Kolu and Mohammad Ramzan Kolu. It was in the year 1962, the very first Deluxe Luxury House boat was built in Dal lake which was named as Pride Of Kashmir which earned a lot of fame and is still a pride to the owners. Kolu group of house boat is an epitome of the family bond and as a result the management through the years are been taken over by the following generations. At present we are proud of announcing the largest number of deluxe luxury house boats in Kashmir. The entire management is taken care of by the management of Kolu brother which is leaded by Nazir Ahmed Kolu and brothers.

Reviewed By Vinay SI stayed at the Gulrose houseboat of Kolu group of houseboats. This booking was done online as the regular houseboats were all sold out. The house boat was quite expensive and costed me around 18k for 3 persons on MAP plan. Coming to the good part - the location is good, just across Ghat no 13, rooms are clean and comfortable, bathroom is clean and usable. The not so good part - The owners of this houseboat stay at Delhi and the houseboat is managed by staff and this makes all the difference. There is nothing like Kashmiri hospitality in this houseboat. For dinner we got Punjabi chicken inspite of requesting well in advance that we preferred local delicacies like Gushtaba etc. Breakfast was also not good with standard toast, undercooked omlette and poha. We wanted to try noon chai but the staff refused saying that it takes lot of time to make it. Even the Kahwa that was served didnt seemed authentic and was like the standard dip that we get in the cities. The houseboat does not serve water during dinner and breakfast and charged us 80 Rs for every bottle of water that we consumed at the dining table. I feel this should have been clarified at the beginning itself because even the most basic of houseboats serve water during dinner and breakfast and secondly charging 80/- for a 10/- bottle. So in short the houseboat does not justify its high price tag, there are several other houseboats around that are much reasonable with similar services. I will not return to this houseboat.

The owner of the hotel is attentive and helps in traveling with advice. I can recommend the youth company and people planning a quiet vacation.

Reviewed By HemasharmaMe and my family stay there for two days . It is surrounded by natural beauty. When you will walk in the morning you can feel the fresh air , which is a plus point for us. This hotel looks like a old home but the surrounding environment will definitely makes it a special place.

Excellent food, ambience and service
Reviewed By Ashishgarg123Stayed for 2 nights with family and must say never had food like this. Spent 2 hours eating only. Excellent place for kids as they remain fully engaged in cycling, games and pool. Service of staff specifically mr Akhtar javed took special care of us. Going to visit again soon.

Ishfaq , the House Keeping Incharge was very much co-operative along with Waiter Zahoor and Alfat and Rest all Staff were so Kind and I am so excited to come again in this Hotel to Stay for 4/5 days again and again. I checked-In on 3/6/2022 and my 2 days of Stay felt like a heaven in this World. The Food too was Excellent and I pray God that the Kashmir become once again a Great Tourist Attraction. Human Being is the word which I enjoyed here , the people here are always eager to welcome us with open arms to serve us to the fullest . The Manager Mr. Yaseen always was keeping us in touch for any service. Thank You Kashmir Mahal Resorts Hotel .

Reviewed By karishma67This place is situated in nigeen lake area of the town, its the only resort amidst many houseboats surrounding the area! The resort is spread out to a land area of 1 acre with beautiful flowers and orchards , the view of the nigeen lake and zabarwan range from the place is breathtaking, away from the hustle and bustle of the city its a perfect place to spend ur time gazing at the majestic view in front nd take in the beauty , srinagar is! The rooms are very spacious, i would recommend the lake view room it has this huge balcony which for me was the highlight of the resort because of the spectacular view , i could spend all my time sitting out looking at the view in front, surreal! The bathrooms have hot water supply all day long, the food is sumptuous! All in all a perfect place to get away and spend some time with nature and admire the beauty of kashmir I would specially like to mention about the hospitality of the owners and the staff of the place , who go out of their away to make you feel comfortable and at home, whatever you need they are super prompt with the service, highly appreciate the gestures. I would highly recommend a stay at this place.
