We were absolutely delighted with La Mer Deluxe and,in particular, the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff. Our room was very clean and confortable, the pool areas were immaculate as were all of the public areas in the hotel. Breakfast offered a huge range and I am sure there was something which would suit most tastes. For us the quality was consistently high as was the presentation. The hotel is really well located and it is a very short walk to the seafront where there is a huge choice of restaurants and cafes. I would recommend the hotel to any of my friends who were contempating a visit to Santorini.

Disappointed
Reviewed By Mark DArrived at Nikki beach coming from staying at lovely stay in Oia were staff went above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable as possible. When we arrived at the room the pool outside was not clean and had green Algae around it, there was no hot water in the shower either- reception did sort the hot water situation but pool was not touched. We made coffees in the room which was not replaced, cleaning service called at 9.30am- not sure the reasoning behind this. When we went to lie by the beach there was only one sun lounger under the umbrella so I let my partner lie on it- which meant I lay on the stoney beach before they could bring the other bed round (took 3 hours!) whenever we could see there was some available. There was a bad smell of sewage outside our room also, we had felt that we weren’t important enough people at this hotel in order to receive 5 * service. Food and drinks were grand, we ate in the escape and couldn’t fault it, the restaurant manager George was very friendly and pleasant, we had a lovely night in his company. The hotel kindly offered to book us a taxi to airport which was 2miles away which was €30.. Wouldn’t recommend unless you are prepared to pay lots of money to lie by a pool

Excellent Choice to stay
Reviewed By Ian HWe stayed her for 9 nights in August. This hotel is family run and this reflects on the vibe, very relaxed, friendly and eager to help (special shout out to Poppi on reception)! Very reasonably priced, considering where it is situated on the start of walk way into Oia, perfect. The accommodation is nice and well kept, with a lovely pool area, again, well keep. Breakfast is basic but standard fare, all in all highly recommend a stay here

It provides with an absolutely spectacular panorama view of the sea, has a super location close to Thera where you can enjoy pleasant walks and they have exceptionally kind staff. They made us feel very welcome and happy. The food was delicious and fresh, the massages very pleasant, our room was super nice with 2 balconies and a private Jakuzzi and the atmosphere outside by the pool was very pleasant and relaxing. Thank you Kostas, Zoe and Bessy for making our stay so great.

Reviewed By Vicky BWe have just left after 7 days here. We had the jacuzzi room and the best views. The staff have been super friendly and very helpful. The village is a 5 min walk from the hotel and a bus stop just outside to take you to Fira (1.80E) We will definitely be back! Thank you Kokkinos

Kivotos Santorini is ideally located in Imerovigli, the most private area of Santorini. On an island bustling with visitors for many months of the year, Imerovilgi is definitely the quietest, most intimate district on the island with only a few hotels and a couple of gourmet restaurants to shatter the ambience. Unlike many of the properties on the island there is no climbing down involved in accessing the hotel. You can drive straight to a waiting parking space in front of the entrance to the first building with a mere twenty steps leading down to the second. Now, just close your eyes for a moment and prepare yourself for the view of a lifetime, 180 degrees worth of pure majesty, across the entire bay and caldera. You are drawn first to the remains of the ancient acropolis of Santorini, called Skaros, perched on a single defiant turret of rock in the sea. Cast your gaze wider to take in the magnificent sunset and world famous volcano of Santorini. Even more unique is the extra romantic touch not found in other luxury accommodation on Santorini; not only do all the bedrooms look out onto this view but so confident are we of its supremacy that the windows are specially curved so whatever the time of year you stay the last rays of day will stream directly in onto your bed! So, from the view to the hotel itself: Five Suites and Two Villas with indoor or outdoor pools and Jacuzzi, a Hammam, en-suite treatment rooms and other unique five star elements are offered which in combination with the hotel’s gourmet restaurant and skybar are here to further enhance your accommodation experience.
Volcanic Santorini
Reviewed By MacTraveller64While traveling to Greece for a family reunion, my wife and I had the pleasure to stay at Kivotos in Imerovigli, Santorini for two nights. After doing research on the property and others I chose it because the ability to see the sunset over the ocean from the balcony of our room. The views from this location are stunning. There is a wonderful view of Oia and that side of the caldera and it’s other island components as well as Skaros Rock situated dramatically in the foreground (Hike this in the morning when it is cool and see the church on the other side – breathtaking). Additionally because it is situated high on the rim there is relatively little walking of stairs to get to and from your room ( see further discussion below). There are other places with a similar view but with the flight after flight of stairs. Santorini is generally not for the unfit. The staff at the hotel were all very friendly and tried extremely hard to please us. The receptionist and the wait staff were especially friendly. I’m sure it is hard to find such qualified personnel in this day and age. The manager was top notch. We were pleasantly upgraded to the honeymoon suite which was over the top. It was two-story with an indoor Jacuzzi that could easily fit eight people. What you should know that this property is stylized to look like volcanic rock which is to say that it is black rather than the stereotypical white cubic buildings of Santorini. The interiors are also black which produces a cavelike atmosphere which is both cool visually and in temperature. There is recess lighting in many locations the color of which can change. The red color is particularly evocative of lava in the channels of a volcano which I think is the point. Some people may find this appearance gimmicky, but we loved it. The room is also fairly high tech which if you still have a VCR you might find intimidating. Again, for us this was part of the fun. This place is for the young and young at heart (in my upper 50s I consider myself in the later category) and not for the elderly unless particularly spry. If you are older or have mobility issues I would discuss options directly with any property on Santorini. The bathroom was luxurious and we had two of them. Overall I would say our room was very appropriate for a honeymoon or an anniversary. We were greeted with a cold bottle of wine and flowers in the room after having already been greeted with fresh lemonade in reception. There was free breakfast included in our stay and it was wonderful. We chose less pricey options for dinner so I cannot comment about this aspect of the property. The restaurant appear to be full every night particularly with people wanting to watch the sunset. We watched the sunset and the people at the restaurant from our balcony without a crowd and with our own bottle of wine. This is exactly why we rented this room and I was not disappointed. If you were looking for privacy on your balcony or your hot tub this may be difficult to come by given the way as all of the properties are built one on top of the other. This is another advantage of being high up you as you have relatively few spectators, but true privacy is hard to come by. The indoor Jacuzzi was as private as it gets. It has no view. In fact, there are no large picture windows of the view so do be aware of that. This is mainly obtained from your balcony which has an umbrella and two comfortable lounge chairs. But if you were someone who wants to sit an air conditioning and look out of a window this would not accommodate you. We wanted to be in the sun and see the views from outside so we were very happy. Lastly I would say that if you experience any problems the reception personnel will enthusiastically address them to the best of their ability. My apologies for the disjointed review but I am still on vacation and I have no editor.
