Reviewed By sharonthiangWhat we saw on their site is not what we got coz the rooms are run down. We found out later that they have newly renovated rooms but somehow they chose to allocate us some new and some old rooms. The old rooms is old, musky with peeling toilet tiles and the toilet stinks! When we complaint they actually said we can move out if not happy but never said anything about refund. However, the breakfast was not too bad.

Attractive resort in an excellent location by the beach

The resort is in a great location by the beach and is attractively laid out, with residential buildings arranged around a pool with a line of trees between the pool and buildings, and pleasant gardens behind. The buffet breakfast was excellent, with a good choice of tasty food, and the management were very helpful. There were only a couple of small problems: in particular the "cold" water in the bathroom was scalding hot, presumably because the tank is under the metal roof.

Reviewed By TheCHauntsThe staff at Pangkor Holiday resort are really lovely people who try incredibly hard to make your stay a pleasant one. We booked the honeymoon package and the staff maintained excellent communication in the lead up to our arrival. They also provided everything that they said that they would to the letter. The only drawback of the stay was that our chalet looked out over the pool which had a fair bit of screaming kids. Also the complimentary breakfast could have been a bit better but those are minor details. All in all the staff were excellent and really went all out to make our stay as wonderful as possible.

Reviewed By SelinawonggFor the price we paid for two nights, the accommodation was more than we expected. Working aircond, hot water, tv, mini fridge and towels. Located walking distance to plenty of food stalls and in between two beaches, nipah beach and coral beach which is a 5 minute walk away. Staff is friendly as well. Rooms are within close proximity to each other so do expect a lot of noise when its filled.

Wonderful quiet place
Reviewed By Lisa-Marie1301We loved everything about the resort. The huts were clean and lovely with little balconies. It was right on the edge of the jungle so the view was amazing. But you have to be aware of the monkeys. The bed was big and comfortable. The owners were super friendly and helpful with everything. Nipah Beach is not a nice and quiet place like we assumed but this resort definetly saved our trip. We slept better than in any other hotel on our 4 week trip through Malaysia.

Apartment is decent for a short stay
Reviewed By ELAYTEECoral bay resort is about a 15 min drive from the jetty and cost us 10myr each way (taxi fares are apparently fixed on the island, depending on start and end points). It was apparently called coral bay as the beach nearby was white 30yrs ago, but this is not the case now. We stayed in a 2 bedroom apartment with a pool view as 3 adults for 2 nights. It was roughly 218 MYR / £40 per night. The apartment was very spacious and had a nice layout including an en suite in the master bedroom, kitchenette, dining table, balcony, utility balcony, wardrobes and mini fridge. Beds were comfy and 3x AC units kept the entire apartment nice and chilly. The apartment was very clean, including the bathrooms and whilst it was a little dated with signs of wear and tear it was not dirty. Negatives of the room are that it could do with a little decor (minor complaint) as it does not feel very homely with so much empty space. The kitchen space, apart from the fridge is also not really usable as an apartment kitchen (no utensils, plates or mugs, just 2x glasses and a kettle) Soundproofing is the major problem. The windows are single pane so the bedroom near the pool let in a ton of noise, especially from kids. The other bedroom faced the hallway and footsteps, talking or doors opening/closing were waking us up. Its also audible from the living room. Front desk staff were fine, housekeeping were nice, breakfast staff did not look happy at all. Breakfast buffet was below average, despite being very busy the choice was limited. Porridge, fruit, cereal, hot drinks, orange juice, a few rice dishes, eggs, noodles each day. Not much variety. The pool is very small and as a lot of kids were in it, i would not recommend it for adults. The gym was bloody awful lol, it was like a prison gym and absolutely knackered. The equipment looks like its from the 70s and has never been cleaned. There is no AC and the door to the gym is a metal gate, so its as hot as the outdoor temps. Location is ok but quite busy. Lobby has a duty free store and supermarket next to it. Taxi rank outside alongside a few eateries, food stalls, bike rentals, small beaches and massage parlour within a 10 min walking distance. Would i visit again? Yes for another short stay. The apartment was fine by island standards but I would pick a quieter time (not Raya week).

Rooms are basic with the neccessities one needs - comfy bed, AC and shower with hot water. Staff was very friendly and helpful. They have a few mopeds you can rent for a good price to get you around the island.

Excellent Stay and Amazing Experience

Location : The location is nicely located right in the small street very near to the beach. There are many guesthouses around and this one is very easy to spot. Get a taxi from the jetty, it only costs me RM 16.00 (for 2). The taxi driver know the chalets by heart. The location is ideal and not so noisy. I love this features. Reception : We arrived around 11am. The room is not ready yet as we expected. The receptionists are very kind to let us put our stuffs and asked us to wander around first. They will give us a call around 2pm when our room is ready. They helped us to arrange our motorcycle rental. And they are very knowledgeable about their island. Thru my one day stay, all the staffs had been extremely helpful. Room : We came back around 1.30pm and the receptionists hurried to tell us the room 112 is ready. We know by the look of this resort that this is not a grand chalet, but I GOT MORE THAN WHAT I PAID. The room is spacious, enough for rucksacks and for us to walk. The design is very traditional and the AC works super fine. I didnot try the TV, I dont see why I have to watch TV while being in Pangkor. Hot water is perfectly fine and the bathroom is clean. The room does feel a bit sandy but thats the feeling of being so near to sea. I believe they cleaned the room 100% but with winds and stuffs, nothing can be done about that. After all, it is a perfect hotel near the beach. Food : We didnot order room with any meal packages. No idea. Environment : This is what it feels like to be on a holiday by the beach in a traditional chalet. The area is very hype, but local enough for us to enjoy. The whole experience had been very positive for me. The hotel, the beach, the sea, the receptionists, the lobby area, the restaurants around and the live band, I think all of them are PERFECT. Recommendation : You have a wide lobby. I think you can add a bit of an entertainment there like a pool table. But thats just some recommendations. Satisfaction : TOTALLY 100% SATISFIED. I totally recommend this resort to anyone who wants to go to Pangkor. You cannot go wrong. Try this and be amazed.
