Breathtaking Views, Friendly, Delicious

I had my wedding here this summer, and it was beautiful, better than I could have dreamed! The views from here are more stunning than any pictures can show, you can see the duomo of Arezzo in the near distance, and the evening of our wedding had a spectacular sunset. All meals were to die for, the lovely Tuscan antipasti, truffle risotto, steaks, and of course the after dinner liqueurs. Roberto and his family have done an amazing job refurbishing La Locanda (it was a farm) to be the new B&B it is today - gorgeous chestnut wood, very comfortable, elegantly rustic rooms, and flowers everywhere you look. Roberto does not speak English which made for some amusing conversations, but this should not deter you! La Locanda was the perfect place for our small wedding of 15 guests - we had the place to ourselves for the duration of our stay, including the ceremony and reception. Our wedding favors were even their own delicious home-made olive oil! If you are traveling during the summer, the lounging pool and air-conditioning are a plus. We can't wait to come back!

Il Borro Relais & Chateaux

Telling its stories, a place becomes part of those stories. The legend takes on a life beyond the place and becomes timeless. The origins of the village of Il Borro are lost in the history of medieval Tuscany and the famous people who established the reputation of the region. Every alley, every stone speaks of a time that once was, of flavours and scents that recall the memory of a rare and more authentic Tuscany.Surrounded by vineyards and olive groves, in the shadow of the cypress trees of the ancient Via dei Sette Ponti, (an area rich in art and culture between the three main cities of Tuscany Florence, Arezzo and Siena), Il Borro is an open window on history, a fresco to a far away world. The Medici dynasty, the Savoia family and now the Ferragamo family have safeguarded and preserved this precious oasis, making this place, suspended between past and present, a sanctuary dedicated to wellbeing and the art of hospitality. You are welcome - one thousand years of history are waiting for you!

Disappointed, not a nice experience

we were two families for this trip..my family was in 2 adults and one baby girl.. so we ordered a room without extra bed.. my friend’s family was in 3 adults and 1 baby girl.. they ordered a room with a extra bed .. but the reception made a mistake on assigning rooms .. gave us the room with extra bed.. and gave my friend the room which one is without extra bed …and on 17 April.. we ordered dinner by phone.. when we arrived at the restaurant Bistrot, they told us they forgot our order and there is no more table .. we have been waiting for 1 and half hour, then started our dinner .. the baby girls were super sleepy ! After this dinner, my husband and my friend’s husband, both of them had a very case of food poisoning ~ all the night and the next daytime with vomiting and diarrhea .. 18 April we had to canceled all the plans we wanted to do.. because we have to stay in the room to take care of our husbands.. I called the reception for room service I wanted to order something to eat.. they told me they will send someone to me.. but after 40 minutes nobody came .. my friend and I went to the reception and told the lady our husbands need help, she said she can’t do anything..and advised us to go out to buy medicine by ourselves.. but no shops open in the Easter Day … then we went to the bar for brunch…when we finished, we called a hotel’s car to bring us back to the room.. the driver started the car when one foot of my friend’s mom’s was outside the car .. and one of the tyre passed on her foot.. what a terrible accident!!! thank goodness,, she weared a sneaker and the size is a little bigger.. so the foot was only swollen, not fractured … and 19 April when we check out, we told the reception all of what happened(food poisoning.. accident..ecc) but the lady said only sorry .. and she called the manager of the restaurant.. the manager came and asked us a lot of questions, seems that he didn’t believe our words.. then he also just said sorry and went away quickly.. then the lady from reception asked us to check the bill~ I wonder if they are racists! They treat us in this way because we are Asian? The manager of the hotel came to us when he heard my question about racism .. he apologized and made a discount for us .. but please understand one thing.. discount is not our final purpose .. what happened to us is really not nice..the reception and the restaurant are really not professional as a luxury hotel!any way the manager Ricardo is very kind !

Cortona Resort - Le Terre dei Cavalieri

Our estate consists of a Farmhouse and a Leopoldina built in the 18th century during the extensive reclamation of the Valdichiana by the Grand Dukes of Tuscan. In times past they belonged to the Order of the Knights of St. Stephen and Malta. The Order used to protect the ancient Grand Ducal Farm of Creti and S. Caterina. The restoration of these buildings required some years of works during which the old "cocciopesto" plaster was restablished, walls with the natural stuccoed pigments were painted and where the structure of the fireplaces wee left unchanged, vaults of the old stable were empty and strengthened, columns which define the countryside were stuccoed.Today we can offer you this unique place to enjoy an intense and unrepeatable experience, making you feel part of an environment where things have remained unchanged and the past seems to be brought back to life everyday in its charm and character. You will be able to dine in a kitchen that used to accommodate over thirty people at a time, sleep in the bedroom converted from the old cattle shed where farmers used to spend sleepless nights watching over their cows delivering their calves, sleep in the "tracantone" bed, sleep in the bedroom located in the Loggia or in the bedroom converted from the old dove-tower, a shelter where doves were bred by farmers. Fireplaces will tell you and remind you of stories that were told gathering around them in the cold winter nights.Walls are decorated with paintings and pictures that will explain you old piece of life and tradition. The best images you will be able to behold will come, as if by magic, from the windows opening onto stunning natural settings such as the dark mountains hanging over Cortona, the sweet and seamless country-side and the noble profile of Cortona.Unique observation, scenes and tastes of true peasant life, a restful and relaxing effect, wealth of details interpreting the sense of place.Looking forward to having you here to discover many more things that words can not describe we would like to make a wish: that knocking on our door you may call beauty by its name.
