A Day in the Country

A Day In The Country is an award winning Corporate Events, Team Building and Conference venue based on the Oxfordshire / Northamptonshire border. The venue is set in a 250 acre estate, featuring three trout lakes surrounded by woodland. The hospitality area and conference suite are housed in a magnificent 18th century barn, which has been sympathetically converted to offer the best of both worlds; open log fires combine with the sophistication of a modern conference and hospitality suite. Corporate activities range from Clay Shooting, Archery, Air Pistol Shooting, Rage Buggies, 4×4 Driving, Tractor Driving, Falconry, Hovercraft driving to Team Building Exercises and our Ropes Course and Raft Building.

Attended as part of business strategy & team building day. Sited just of the M40 so very easy to get to. Well signposted with plenty of parking. We were in the great barn. Great entrance hall for everyone to gather in. Breakfast of bacon rolls, tea & coffee provided to give a great start to the day. Separate function room with fantastic seating & projection presentation facilities. Tea , coffee & biscuits provided during break. Great buffet lunch served. During breakfast, tea & lunch all dietary requirements were catered for. Our group contained both vegan & gluten free. Following lunch we were split in to several groups for the team building part of the day. Each activity had its own instructor who were very professional. The activities were also well thought out & the equipment was of great quality & unlike some facilities there was a very low risk around health & safety. I strongly recommend this venue if you are planning an similar event to ours. There was also a bar that we did not use but I expect that this place would also be a fantastic venue for small wedding parties or family parties.

Attended a wonderful anniversary party for my in-laws. The vintage tea was beautiful and all the staff were amazing especially the captain, who professionally and kindly talked and educated the few children on board about driving the boat. It could not have been more perfect!

Iffley Meadows

These wet meadows crossed by old river channels with willow-lined ditches have a rich diversity of wildlife typical of old, unspoilt meadow land. They were once a widespread feature of our river systems, but many wet meadows have been lost to drainage and farming. In spring, the blooms of cuckooflower mark the start of a colourful sequence of wild flowers in the meadows. Each April, Iffley Meadows plays host to a wonderful widlife spectacle where you can enjoy Oxfordshire's iconic flower, the snake's-head fritillary, in bloom in its natural surroundings.

Buscot Weir

This was our second visit to the weir on a lovely late summer day. There is a National Trust car park a short walk away as there is no parking at the weir/lock. There are a few way marked walks in the area & a very interesting notice board that gives an excellent review of the history of the area. Out of interest, Buscot Lock is the smallest on the Thames. The area is peaceful & relaxing & complemented by an excellent tea room in the village.

My nearly 15 year old son was booked for a 2 hour junior driving experience having never sat behind the wheel of a car before. Thanks to Neil, his driving instructor he had a fantastic time. The first hour was at the wheel of a Subaru Impreza before swapping to a Porsche for the second hour. My son drove for the whole of the time ( except the initial 2 minute drive to the junior track) and enjoyed it even more than he expected to. All the staff were very friendly and approachable for any queries. Highly recommend Udrive for a birthday present to remember. Thanks again Neil!
