The 10 Best Nature & Parks in Sapa, Lao Cai Province

February 14, 2022 Jacquiline Delozier

The northwest market town of Sapa is colorful and charming, providing the perfect oasis in the midst of a strenuous mountain trek or rice-paddy tour. The Gothic stone church at the center of town is a bull’s-eye in the center of shops and stalls, serving as a reminder of the town’s French missionary influence. Dine on Vietnamese or European-inspired cuisine downtown, and don’t miss the Saturday night "love market," one of the most potent—and strictest—single’s nights imaginable.

Simply amazing. Don’t miss out. Weather in town will not determine weather at the top. It was cloudy the day I went and opened up to blue skies at the summit. Also went solo. Very easy to do. Take taxi or walk to sun plaza Buy train + cable car tickets Take train Take cable car Climb the stairs or take more trains I suggest climbing as you can see all the different views and see and enter temples along the way. There’s a cafe with stunning views at the top to enjoy drinks, rest, use restroom, WiFi.

I went on my own. Most people take guides which I cannot understand as it is hard to get lost there. In any case, I highly recommend the hike to the valley as well as villages nearby, Ta Van and Lao Chai - beautiful views of rice fields and magnificent mountains!

Thac Bac Waterfall (Silver Falls)

Reviewed By Pastandyou

On the way to Tram Ton Pass, we took a short walk to Silver Waterfall. The guide said that we were lucky to visit Thac Bac in the summer because the water pours down strongly from June to October. I was really impressed by the waterfall like a white dragon diving into the stream and the stunning scenery of the surrounding mountains. It was also amazing to soak in the cool stream. You can totally relax there and imbue with the natures because the atmosphere was fresh and wonderful compared to the big cities. It’s nothing else but a waterfall, but I strongly recommend to visit it once when in Sapa, especially in the summer.

Ham Rong Mountain

Highest sceneric view in Sapa

Reviewed By JSTrip_77 - Hanoi, Vietnam

Even though the weather was gray and misty - and it was winter - we went to Ham Rong. The flowers were really pretty and while the statues of the animals of the Chinese zodiac weren't all in the best shape, they were fun and lively. Plus, it's funny that they chose Mickey Mouse, Scooby Doo, and Tom (the cat from Tom and Jerry)! If you go up to the top, they offer cross-bow shooting (toys, basically, not dangerous). There are lots of options for light food and drink as well as lots of souvenirs - specifically ethnic minority clothing - in the park as well as on the road to it. It was well worth the trip and inexpensive entry fee. Just be careful of your footing when it is misty or rainy.

At the end of the motor way about 25 Km from Sapa town lies a vast and flat valley, circled by mountains and hills. It is Ban Ho valley home to the Tay ethnic. The Muong Hoa River winds its way around the village provide fresh water for 2 crops of rice and bean every year and it make the scenery of the valley more romantic.

So glad i came here, in fact we were the only tourists there. The village is set in a beautiful valley with a lovely clean river - kind of like a paradise. There is even a suspension bridge over it. Much more authentic than cat cat village.

Sapa Lake

Reviewed By Salesheaven2019

The lake and the square with gardens by the church are the 2 main areas that make Sapa town pleasant to hangout in. Both areas are lined with restaurants and coffee and tea places and other shops and hotels. You can rent duck paddle boats on the lake. But we just liked walking around it and hanging out in one of the many coffee places.
