Annapurna Mountain Range

One of Nepal's famed mountain ranges, the Annapurna consists of several peaks of varying heights. Of these, Annapurna I and Annapurna II are the tallest at almost 8000 meters providing a spectacular panoramic view for anyone visiting the Himalayas.

One of the world's most famous treks for good reason. The scenery covers everything from lush forest and rice paddys (in the lower sections) to arid valleys (around Manang and mustang) and of course, the 5400m Thorung La pass! And all along the way your have this amazing backdrop of the Annapurna range and other Himalayan giants. Plan on at least 2 weeks to enjoy the trek - or more if you want to do some of the side trips available. Lodging is easy to find pretty much year-round although it gets very busy in the peak seasons (April & September). Bring warm gear, a strong pair of legs and a sense of adventure :)

While the trek to EBC is amazing, the Kala Patthar summit is even more breathtaking .. and quite an accomplishment! Getting to EBC is great, and it’s so fun to stand directly below earth’s highest point, however, getting to the top of Kala Patthar leads to stunning views of some of the highest mountains in the world and the closest view you’ll ever get of Mt. Everest. Also, the view of Pumori is quite impressive as you trek up the mountain. I can’t wait to go back someday!

We have made a 9 days trek combining Tamang and Langtang trail. We contacted directly our guide named Temba Tamang (owner of Me Very Happy Guesthouse) and arranged everything via email. It was a great experience with wonderful people. Booking directly with local people avoids that most of your money goes to agencies, everything we spent went directly to local people who definitely need it after the earthquake. Temba is a beautiful person who will share everything with you. Don't hesitate!

One of Chitwan's best secrets, a quiet jungle full of creatures and only 200npr each. Saw a lot more here than a whole days safari in the National Park - boar, chital & sambar deer, mongoose and a rhino plus numerous birds. Do it by bicycle for a full immersion day out where you can enjoy the sights, smells & sounds - and get off the road for goodness sake! 500npr bike hire from Sauraha, reasonable fitness required, the highlight of 5 days in Chitwan province.

Phewa Tal (Fewa Lake)

Reviewed By Crowhollow - Morrison, United States

We enjoyed our boat ride and hike up to the World Peace Pagoda so much that we arranged an early morning paddle the next day with the same boat oarsman, Gautam, at the location across from the Glacier Hotel. He is very good at spotting birds and monkeys and took us to the best places to see them. It was very peaceful and scenic to be on the lake in the morning while there were few other boaters and there were lots of birds to see.
