Armenian Genocide Orphans' "Aram Bezikian" Museum

Located in Byblos, the museum is a place of memory which aims to promote the common values & principles of humanity. As part of its remembrance activities on the occasion of the commemoration of the centennial of the Armenian Genocide, the Catholicosate of the Great House of Cilicia has commissioned the building of this cultural facility thanks to the active sponsorship of the Bezikian family.

I stopped here for about an hour and was very impressed. The museum does a thorough and professional job of covering the Armenian Genocide and the related issues pertaining to orphans. There is English signage throughout the museum and the exhibits are very informative. I would estimate that the museum is weighted 80% to the genocide and 20% to the history of the orphans. Highly recommended.

Atelier Assaf

Atelier Assaf is an eco-tourism project that sits quietly in the fertile valley of Al Warhaniyeh, in Shouf Caza, and embodies the harmony between nature, culture and art. Surrounded by 10,000 sq meters of virgin nature, the project was initiated by three artists (the Assaf brothers) and is devoted to showcasing a private collection of cultural and environmental art. The Atelier contains a sculpture park and museum, a rural environmental house, and a small botanical garden. We offer guided tours, that can be customised to our guests’ visits, and that aim to: - Introduce the art and process of sculpting – starting with forming in Clay, casting in Resin and Bronze, then Stone carving; - Acquaint with our rural and environmental house and the process of building it using stone and other natural materials; - Familiarise with wild plants and trees - an initiative that is in collaboration with the AUB Nature Conservation Center. Atelier Assaf is now closed and will re-open April 2018.

Very interesting place to visit both for adults and children. Assaf brothers are great hosts. They made an amazing excursion about the local plants (we have even tasted all possible seasonal fruits and nuts (: ), eco-friendly house construction and farming and especially sculpturing. We have seen sculptures of the famous Lebanese of the 20th century in a museum. All of them are made by Assaf brothers in limestone, bronze or resin. At the end we had a coffee break on a chill terrace under the trees. We highly recommend this place for Lebanese and foreign visitors.

located in the heart of the old souk byblos, vero scultura has to be on any tourist bucket list. it has hyper realistic statues, like so close to reality you feel they are about to move or talk. we were all surprised! you get a tour guide included with the tour, they explain to you how it is made and the difference between the new material silicone and other materials. staff are super friendly and we could interact with the statues, we were lucky enough to meet the artist who did all of the art work inside. bravo, well done.

Up next you will enter the forest showcasing all of Lebanon's birds, and after that the desert exhibit, where numerous reptiles dwell. Going even further you will witness the most elegant and mesmerizing of corals, sea stars, and sea shells. Last but not least, your jaws will be on the floor as you come face to face with over 40 shark species, dolphins, and hundreds of fish specimens of which you've never seen in your life, all found in the huge marine exhibit. For its distinguishable work, the museum has been Lebanon's most important Eco group, and works in collaboration with international and regional such as the Shark Trust, Shark Conservation Society, Oceanography De Monaco, and many others in order to study and protect marine and wildlife. The museum aims to spread knowledge and awareness through introducing visitors to the natural wonders of the Mediterranean basin in one single location.
