Convenient and reasonable accommodation
Reviewed By Lawrence LThe motel is part of a chain of motels around the city but only 2 of them are allowed to accept foreign guests. The room is spacious, well equipped with drinking water, Wifi access and TV, but all TV programs are in Mandarin. The showers worked well but even though we were given a non-smoking room, you could detect cigarettes smell on the pillows. The checking-in was efficient but the receptionist was rather aloof when we asked questions about directions and eateries around the motel. There is a large convenience stall next to the motel and plenty of local eateries within a few minutes of walking. Forget about the hotel breakfast as there are many options of trying out the local food in the morning and many push carts and mobile stalls are ready for business by 7.30am. The location is convenient as it is next to a major bus route, fruits stalls and the local market is only 10 mins walking distance away. But there was only one elevator to serve the entire hotel and be prepared to take the stairs. One Hotel Tip:- request for a room not facing the main road so that is quieter.

Great location, adequate hotel
Reviewed By mitraveler16We spent 3 nights here with a trip to tashkurgan in the middle. The hotel location can't be beat. You're in the new, old city and a short walk from the old old city. The rooms are pretty much what you'd expect from a 3 star hotel in China. Rooms on the 3rd floor we're brighter (no elevator). No breakfast was served and the check in desk is now surrounded by heavy security bars.

No longer accepting foreigners
Reviewed By clare_nz_11We tried checking in here in late August 2011 with a reservation from the Home Inn website but were told that the hotel was no longer able to take foreigners. We found it a bit odd that they took our reservation with foreign names but suspect that this has something to do with the government crackdown following recent events in Xinjiang province. It appeared that all foreigners were expected to stay at either the Chini Bagh, Seman or Youth Hostel. It's a shame because we thought the rooms in Home Inn were better value than at the Chini Bagh or Seman Hotel. The situation may change so it's still worth giving the hotel a go if you're not a PRC national.

A luxurious hotel in Karamay
Reviewed By Samuel AThis hotel is quite new and very nice. The grounds are quite beautiful and the staff was very friendly and accommodating. The rooms are decent, comfortable and roomy. I found the TV difficult to operate! Overall, probably one of the better options for accommodation in Karamay.

Reviewed By siyimihotel is only 15 mins away from the hotel; good if you have an morning flight to catch the next day. nearby has plenty of eateries, minimart. hotel to grand bazzar is 30 mins by didi/taxi. room was clean and well-maintenance except that their carpet needs to have a thoroughly wash. what impressed me was their in-house restaurant (the one that is near the reception); one of the best that i ever had in urumqi. need to book a table as it is always full.
