Masseria Iazzo Scagno

There are 3 apartments and 7 double room. Bathroom with Iacuzzi, with autonomous heating and air conditioning. Furniture is in simple and natural style

Idyllic. Very peaceful and secluded but central enough to allow for easy travel to surrounding towns and true Puglia. This place is classy, it’s accommodation is comfortable and fitting for the destination you came to discover. Camille and Luca and the staff totally get the essence of service, so helpful and nothing is too much trouble. They will ensure that you are very happy. I would rate Masseria Lazzo Scagno as 10/10. Improvement? It would be fantastic if the beautiful food prepared for breakfast could be replicated at night but maybe that would detract from the peaceful serene calmness and don’t let this stop you from booking here - just eat out locally or during the day. It’s a fantastic choice and well deserved of its rating on Trip Adviser. I’m fussy and this place did not disappoint. If you are looking for a bit of peace and quiet with absolutely stunning surroundings in a place I believe is relatively off the beaten track at least to British travellers then this fits the bill. An easy fight from Manchester and a fairly straightforward journey by car to Martina Franca it’s very accessible but sufficiently secluded. Pool area is really smart and very neatly put together. Camille, Luca and Anna thank you so much.

Country lane Bed and breakfast supplies

Reviewed By Richard K

Host and hostess were warm and generous, with good recommendations for places to eat and see.The trullo family rooms and the matrimonial room both had comfortable beds and good bathrooms. We had a great stay exploring the cities around Martina Franca by rental car. Parking was provided . The facility is located on a one-lane country road and we enjoyed our evening walk to aperitifs at the local caffe and pizza at Jonny's, the two closest facilities by far (5 min). Want to mention two items to inform the potential consumer. One, it's more like a 15-20 minute walk to the old city and restaurant district. Otherwise a car is needed with concomitant parking hassles as in all Italian cities. Two, we were surprised that breakfast consisted of self-made coffee and packaged items to be consumed in the room.

Very disappointed

I stayed at this location for 2 nights for a family event which was being held elsewhere. It was deserted and not walking distance to anything. Did not see any other customers. At breakfast I was offered 1 croissant and a coffee. Asked for an extra croissant the first morning and a brioche the next morning. I was never told that there was an extra cost for the additional croissant or brioche. However at check out I was charged 10 Euro for 1 croissant and a brioche. Highway robbery. I can understand 2 euro if that. Owner seemed slimy. Would never stay there again.

B&B Binario Uno

POSITION B&B Binario Uno is located in a strategic position: in front of the railway station, a few hundred meters from the Bus Terminal, from the commercial port and close to the historic center, easily reachable on foot. All the most interesting places from the artistic and cultural view of Taranto are close at hand. At the station, there are bus stops for the urban and suburban lines. DESCRIPTION The whole place is very pleasant and relaxing, with ample common spaces and comfortable, quality services and modern amenities. The materials used reflect the detailed attention to style. Each morning guests can enjoy breakfast with sweet and savory specialties, croissants, fruits and juices, served in the charming breakfast room. SERVICES & FACILITIES Free wi-fi throughout the hotel - breakfast - airport transfer (surcharge) - booking tours - booking tickets exhibitions / museums - booking show tickets - luggage storage. ROOMS Rooms at the B&B Binario Uno are bright and airy, furnished with a tasteful simplicity and elegance, and are of different types to suit all needs: 1 single bedroom and 3 double bedrooms. The rooms have a comfortable private bathroom with shower and hairdryer. To make more pleasant the stay of the guests we provide a series of extras usually reserved for higher-class facilities such as room service, air conditioning and satellite TV.

Basic and close to station

Reviewed By Rasputin21

Binario Uno B & B is rated as average because although the room is clean and functional, it just meets this requirement. There is no table or chair but you can perhaps use the eating tables in the common area if you wanted to use the computer. However, there is only one power point there for the lamp and if you want to use that during the late evening then you will need to rely on some overhead lighting. The bed is not a queen sized bed, but a double bed. The bathroom is small but adequate for a night's stay. It is unfortunately not a non-smoking establishment and the apartment smelt strongly of smoke when we walked in. The room walls are very thin and the place would be noisy if all rooms were occupied and people came and went at different times or played the TV fairly loudly. It is within the piazza of the train station and is located in the right hand corner when you have your back to the station building. It is a yellow building next to the Post office There is a very small B & B sign. You need to make sure that Marijana is prepared to meet you at the time you arrange. We had repeatedly informed her/Fabio that we would be arriving by the one and only bus from Martina Franca. This bus left Martina Franca at 7.50am and Fabio said that it took 30 mins to reach Taranto. That said and the fact that we just wanted to leave our luggage and were prepared to check in later as per the time requirements and the accommodation agreed to this, one would imagine that someone would be contactable or at least waiting for us at the apartment since they do not live on the premises. However this was not so and endless ringing of the door bell and phone calls before Marijana arrived meant that we missed our appointed time at the Castello and subsequent trip to Massafra. Previous posters had indicated that the owners would help with luggage as there was no lift. This was not so. We are in our 70s and had to climb 86 steps with heavy luggage. The room is one of four. A common eating area and a small kitchen with a well stocked fridge with yoghurt, jam, fruit juice, iced tea and packaged croissants. You are provided with an individual "breakfast" bowl with cake and croissant and two sachets for use in the coffee machine. The bus 1/2 to the town costs E1.50 each which is a lot considering that the bus ticket from Martina Franca to Taranto only costs E2.50. Perhaps it lasts 90 mins - but there was no indication on the ticket. All busses return to the station, so on the return journey you can take any bus. There is a stop at the Gardini Garibaldi and also at the Fish market. There are two bus stops at the station. You need to flag down the bus or else it wont stop if no one else is getting off at the same stop. If you are fit you can walk over the connecting bridge to the Cathedral and the Castello. If you are taking a bus further on you will need to walk a short distance to Via Napoli where all the intercity buses stop. it is not easy to see as it is hidden behind the flyover. The area around Binario Uno unfortunately is very very run down and dirty. Many dilapidated buildings around and the streets are very dirty. You would think that you are in India. There is only one eating place nearby if you do not want to take the bus back to the centre of town. It only opens at 8.00pm so if you have an early morning connection, you need to take this into consideration. The prices are reasonable and at lunch time it is certainly full.

We've spent 5 days here as a couple and it was quite a great place. The place was spotless and the owner is very kind. There was everything necessary for breakfast. The quality is nothing shy of a five star hotel. The swimming pool is great and organized. It is good to be immersed in the country side of Puglia. We had a bonus with the cats from the neighbors visiting everyday.

Mario’s Magnificent Albergo.

Reviewed By Andyhailsfromwales

What a great few days in Ginosa! Once we found Mario’s Albergo (well to be fair he found us!) we settled in for a relaxing & enjoyable stay. Our room was ideally placed with great views over the ravine & the ancient “troglodyte” cave-houses. It was very comfortably equipped with an excellent king-sized bed. Every morning Mario set us up a fabulous breakfast on the roof terrace, during which he explained many things about the area & recommended/booked us into top-class local restaurants (including a cracker in nearby Matera). A great find which we plan to return to one day - grazie mille Mario!
