Good but could be better
Reviewed By AllisonCWHotel Dos Rios met our needs for our visit to Volcan. It is conveniently located off the main road and has the most spectacular outside setting with a natural river and beautiful plants with pathways and some seating to enjoy the outdoors. There is a restaurant open from 7am to 8 pm and they are known for their pizza which was very good. The rooms and bathrooms were adequate...a bit outdated....But there is cable TV and hot water. The only thing that kept me from giving Hotel Dos Rios five stars is that their included breakfast only includes one line item...which is two scrambled eggs and some white toast and coffee or tea. There is no other selection unless you want to pay the difference for it. I’ve never been to a hotel with an included breakfast that didn’t give you a variety of options such as cereal, fresh fruit, etc....so I found that annoying. The staff was generally nice, but their English was quite limited. Nevertheless all in all, it was a pleasant visit for a fair price.

All our cabins are equipped with furniture and decorated . The bedrooms with sheets, blankets, bedspreads , towels , hot water in bathrooms. The kitchens come with utensils and appliances. WIFI Internet access, televisions with cable TV and DVD. The common recreational area is covered and has barbecues available. We favor a nice panoramic view of Volcan Baru . For peace of our guests have a videovigilacia system and electric gate that allows us to maintain the security of the complex.
Can't beat the value
Reviewed By Bob SWe stayed two nights while taking a friend visiting from the States on a tour of Panama's cooler mountain communities. At $22 per person, per night, this was an astounding value. It was clean and fairly comfortable. There was a full kitchen, so you can prepare your own food if desired. Covered parking and an outdoor dining area are available for each unit. The only downsides are that sound travels easily through the jalousie windows and the road into the cabanas is rocky and must be traversed slowly and carefully if your vehicle is low to the ground. We will most likely return to this location for our next visit.

Reviewed By Laura MThis hotel was very comfortable. The ac worked perfectly. The bed was excellent. The shower was hot day or night. The staff was friendly. We were hunkered down on a Sunday due to lock down restrictions. And it was not a bad place to be. The coffee was fantastic. Only complaint: boxed breakfast Was more like a picnic lunch.

Loved it all! Accommodations, Restaurants and Service!

The Casa grande Bambito Highlands resort has it all… A delicious restaurant with a variety of excellent food, a barbecue restaurant, and a little store for milkshakes and sweets! The icy cold watermelon juice was to die for! The rooms are large and comfortable… Mine even had a big bathtub, which is a rare commodity in these areas. The Internet was the best we have had traveling throughout the Chiriqui province. There are two pools. Best of all was the excellent customer service we received! A special shout out goes to Jose at the restaurant, Raul at the front desk and our amazing housekeeper Zenaida! They were all very kind and accommodating! This hotel is on a beautiful property along a river! A special treat was buying fish food at the front desk and feeding what looked to be like speckled trout in the evening. This is a great place for all!

Reviewed By bichenoWe liked the quite comfortable rooms. The location is great with wonderful views. The restaurant was not that good- just a few options and the food was not very good- the same with breakfast. What we missed was a chance to sit outside, the have a terrace but without any furniture.

The Resplendent Quetzal, Three Wattled Bellbird and 200 other bird species have been recorded. Three species of monkeys and a great diversity of flora await you on the trails. We have accommodations that fit every budget from private rooms sharing kitchens where guests can prepare their own meals to exclusive cabins and full service restaurant. Great for families, birdwatchers, and those looking for a pristine natural environment. Climate is perfect for hiking, mornings are cool and mid day reaches warm but not hot temperatures. Perfect Cloud Forest Retreat!
Reviewed By Marie WOur 4 day stay at My Totumas in April 2022 was amazing! The accommodations, food, guide and staff were all excellent. We were made to feel like part of the family by owner, Jeff, and the staff. The lodge is remote and surrounded by forest, birds and monkeys. The lodge itself has multiple hummingbird feeders and you can enjoy many species of hummingbird birds right from your seat in the lodge! Special thanks to Jeff for his attention and time during our stay. We would highly recommend Mt Totumas!

Reviewed By sjhbajcSuper central location, tiny rooms at tiny price. Very clean, hot showers, nice bed and pillows, and stable wifi. Would stay here again. No "views" ... They should take that of marketing, but a lovely walkable residential neighborhood all around.

Okay for what it is
Reviewed By jcastrejonVolcan is an absolutely beautiful spot to visit, that is off the beaten path. This hotel is good for what it is. We found ourselves in the area late at night with no sleeping accommodations. Many of the bed & breakfasts were already full and the "resorts" were asking higher prices than the hotels in Panama City, which we refused to pay for a short 6 hour stop. This hotel was clean and the staff was very friendly. There is no air conditioning, so you will have to sleep with windows open to be comfortable, which means noise in the mornings from your neighbors moving around. The hotel does not provide toiletries, so you must bring your own. The beds are not very comfortable but it is a place to rest your head after a long day in the mountains.

Tienen buen cafe y diversión para los chicos, hay canopy y un lago con botes para los mas chiquitos, super cómodo el sitio, ademas que puedes hospedarte y hay de diferentes tamaños las cabañas.
