Petra Family Guest House is a perfect place for families and groups to enjoy, rest and relax. We provide ample car parking (within the premises) and our property is electric fenced to protect you from wild animals at night. We provide clean rooms with fresh linens and comfortable bedding. Our rooms have large, sound proof windows and semi-open balcony for undisrupted view of the natural beauty around. Our bathrooms are spacious and clean providing you with clean towels and basic toilet amenities. We have a Chef and food can be ordered from the menu card provided. Our food is tasty, affordable, home-style cooking and we maintain high quality standards in cleanliness. We provide basic internet facilities, laundry, ironing and car wash services for a small surcharge. We can assist with travel, sightseeing and airport/station pick-up and drop. Please note: We strictly DO NOT allow any consumption of Alcohol or alcoholic beverages within our rooms and premises. Our entire property is a 'No Smoking' zone. At the moment we accept only cash and card payment. Only Vodafone and BSNL mobile network works in these areas so please be aware of it. GST 12% on room tariff and GST 5% on food and beverages are applicable. Check in time is 2:00 pm and check out time is 11:00 am. A room is considered "booked" only if we receive the full room tariff in advance.

Reviewed By usrikanth72We had one of the best family outing at Petra located on the scenic Sholayar Dam in Valparai. It is a perfect family retreat with its serene surroundings. It's No Smoking, No Alcohol culture makes it apt for families to have a safe and comfortable stay. The Manager Mr. Josaih, is very warmly welcoming and accomodative. He is there all the time to attend all our needs. All the staff were very cooperative and always wear a pleasant smile. Since we are vegetarian, the cook used to prepare very tasty vegetarian dishes for us. We had a very good driver Mr. Paul Durai, who picked us up right from Pollachi station till droping back at Pollachi station. He is very patient, helpful and was always on time. He planned our entire trip. The travel to Athirapally falls through the forest from Valparai was breathtaking and a must feel for everyone. Valparai is a must visit place, Petra is a must stay place. We are looking forward to an another pleasant stay at Petra soon.

Reviewed By JamilH129Goods: Good location (center area) Friendly staff Bads: 1) Given torn towels and bed-sheets 2) Cockroaches, lizards and more insects inside the toilets 3) Given limited pillows. The pillows are very small and even not normal pillow size. 4) Always switch off the lights on the staircases. 5) Always switch off lights on common places. When I asked them, the says "if on the lights, the boss will scold them" 6) Very small room for double bedroom. Double bedroom and single bedroom are same size.

Reviewed By 769pallabgI had a superb Experience while visiting the Hotel. Mr. Sanjay was an awesome guide. Night Safari was just awesome. We were fortunate enough to see Elephants. Th Bon fire was simply amazing. Will definitely visit once again with my family.

Reviewed By Ajay PThe place is apt, walkable to nearby Shops. Completely new hotel , all facilities good. No Dine feature , we can order BF,lunchand dinner. You will be served Good home made food . Nice beds and toilets. Well view from dining hall and Gym for tourist as well.

The Home stay has total 9 rooms/suites, in house dining, BBQ, Bonfire, Game room etc. 24 hrs hot water available in all rooms along with room service. We arrange Safari, sightseeing tours, hiking and Trekking. The Estate has 2 falls, private bathing and relaxing.

WiFi is free but not steady. Value for money.

Beautiful and Serene Location
Reviewed By bibs009I have been visiting Valparai for over 20 years and was pleasantly surprised with the property and how they managed to remain so elusive all this while. It is a beautiful property surrounded by mountains and we were lucky to spot 2 elephants from our room balcony. The host and the team is very cooperative and friendly and did a wonderful job serving and looking after my family. We will surely come back soon. Highly recommended!

Reviewed By Disa521Very good view from the room. But no other services, everything is chargeable on top of your room tariff. Hot water 1/2 ltr 20rs, tea 20rs and normal water also chargeable. We went with our kid and they did not provide us a extra blanket. The blanket which is available in the room was not clean. Service persons won't be available at the desk. For geyser you need to call to switch on, geyser service will be available only in the morning time. Other time they won't switch on.morning also they will switch on the geyser only for half an hour and again u need to call and request. That guy in the hotel has very worst behavior he took my mobile and gave all the reviews as good.do not prefer this hotel anytime. There are no good restaurants near to this hotel as well. Do not believe in the 5 star reviews in portal.
