Following the funeral of my mother we held the refreshments at the Alverton Hotel,Truro. Their system was very straightforward and the events department put us at our ease. They offered us a lovely room opening out to a spacious patio. The food was excellent and with good choice. We would particularly like to thank Millie for all her hard work in ensuring all went smoothly at a very difficult time . Elizabeth Trenerry

This hotel has outstanding views overlooking the sea! You are about a 3 minute walk from the beautiful Sandy beach! The staff were very kind and helpful and helped out any way they could. Despite previous reviews I found the pool along with its changing rooms very clean and tidy so I assume they have been improved. Breakfast included things like: Smoked salmon and scrambled egg, eggs Benedict, full English breakfast and more very nice meals. The apartment with a sea view is definitely recommended since you could sit out on the balcony and relax while watching the sea sparkle in the sunlight. The kitchen in the apartment was spacious and held all necessary glass and crockery. Thank you for this wonderful stay!

We're a smart and friendly Georgian townhouse right in the centre of Truro. Our 34 rooms and 9 - 4 Star AA open plan apartments are beautifully designed and furnished; our busy but relaxed restaurant is popular with the public as it is with guests. We're not part of a chain, we're independent; taking the trouble isn't an extra, it's a basic minimum. Reception is staffed continually along with room service and Wi-Fi throughout the building and gated on-site parking for £6.00 per day.
Great hotel located in the heart of Truro. Helpful friendly staff. Immaculate room. Dinner and breakfast were superb. Highly recommend if you want something that is not a chain hotel. Room had all amenities you would need. Great room service menu if you don’t want to go to the restaurant.

Our visit to Truro began with Elliot, who made our stay with Hotel Vara memorable and perfect. The elegant hotel with its Scandinavian vibe downstairs and period rooms upstairs is located in an upscale neighborhood in walking distance of shops, restaurants, the market square, and Truro Cathedral. Hotel staff were thoughtful and accommodating, and the hearty breakfast the best we had in England. They also recommended local guides who made the most of our time in Cornwall.

I stayed here one night as I was working in the area. I was greeted by a nice gentleman who directed me where to park and walked me through the garden at the rear, what a beautiful setting, the house is so elegant. The lady of the house showed me to my room, she was very lovely and told me that a breakfast bag would be left for me, I didn't expect that, it was a pleasant surprise and very welcome as I would be leaving early to go to work and wondered where I would get something. I went out for dinner in the evening of my stay, but didn't realise how close it was walking to the city, there was a pub very close by too. If I come to Truro again I will definitely be staying again. Lovely charming hosts and such a beautiful house.

Was disgraced at what I found at this hotel. I was so embarrassed I said I had to leave within 15 minutes of arriving. The room was classed with a private bathroom (10 metres away with no lock) and was wrongly advertised. The bed was hard, the room in general terrible. Rot in the shower. Cannot believe you get away with hiring our rooms like this. Do the decent thing and refund me for my 15 minute stay - Hotels.com confirmation no: 9166374946276

This little B&B is just fantastic. Family run, quiet, so so welcoming lots of little touches in the room, the ensuite shower is amazing. Every part is so well kept so clean. The breakfast is WOW. They certainly know how to treat the guests, we were blown away with the basket provided. We can not recommend this hidden jewel enough. 100/10 lol

Overlooking the River Allen and Truro Cathedral; The Barley Sheaf is one of Truro's oldest pubs, originally established in 1819. The building has always been an Inn, with rooms upstairs for guests; but its reputation grew with the locals as a music hotspot. We offer 8 en suite rooms which are based upstairs right above the pub. Ideal for business or leisure trip. Please note as mentioned above we are very popular as a music hot spot with music events running from Thursday to Saturday. Free mic/ karaoke Thursday night, live music Friday and 80's-90's disco Saturdays. So not only a great location but also free entertainment.
Perfect place to stay if you’re looking to visit central Cornwall. Clean hotel and reasonably priced alcohol. Friendly staff and great facilities. Riverside Outdoor area overlooking the beautiful cathedral. Very close to the A30 but away from noise. Well worth a visit.
