What an absolute gem of a B&B! Spotlessly clean, awesome breakfast and very reasonably priced. Alan and Elaine are fabulous hosts. The amazing little touch of a ‘wee dram’ in the room was delightful Will definitely be back and I highly recommended staying here if in Stranraer.

Just home after staying for 4 nights at the northwest castle.excellent is all I will say.it was that good we’ve booked for a week in November.I must say the staff make it.I’ve stayed at numerous hotels around Britain but the staff don’t come up to what we’ve just experienced.Jill on reception was so friendly and professional that your needs were all sorted.she was excellent.the food was out of this world every night it got better and better and jade was running the restaurant down to a tee and always had time to chat and ask how we were.all staff were mostly young but have certainly been trained well. The 2 sisters in housekeeping I’m sure we’re taking great pleasure in confusing me each day especially when one popped up and served my breakfast.honestly if your ever looking for a wee break then north west castle should not be overlooked.see you November.

Torrs Warren Country House Bed and Breakfast Hotel

This country house bed and breakfast hotel, is set in beautiful countryside in the south west of Scotland Rhins area of Dumfries and Galloway on the Scottish Borders. It really is a home from home with two fireplaces, books, lounges , conservatory, a bar.. We have designed it to be comfortable, homely, and as if you were your own country house. We are open 7 days a week .A former vicarage set in its own gardens, in two and half acres, with views to the sea, the Bed and Breakfast is a good base for exploring the local area with golf clubs, beaches, secluded coves, gardens, forests, a neighbouring park with play area and walks all close and just five miles from Portpatrick, eight miles from Cairnryan for the ferry port. The Bed and Breakfast has been transformed into a comfortable country house serving a hearty breakfast with warm comfortable surroundings, and a personalised service, lovely gardens, a pond and sea views. Nearby are various exotic gardens such as the Logan Botanical, Castle Kennedy, the Ardwell Estate, Glenwhan or Dunskey gardens which all are beautiful to visit. We have 10 individual rooms & suites, each with their own bathrooms with bath or shower or both ,TV, ironing boards, hairdryers and free WiFi. We have superior king or larger Suites with sofas, as well as deluxe, or small doubles and twins available, and family rooms, some with connecting rooms. We also have a comfortable residents lounge and a library with games., TV, where you can sit by the fire and read the newspapers or just relax and watch TV, or perhaps read from our extensive library . All of our rooms have a traditional Scottish Tartan theme running throughout, with a slightly different feel , oak furniture and fittings; from the superior Royal Blue and Pink rooms with their high ceilings and sofas to relax on, to the views from the Bay Front overlooking the gardens, or the two superior suites with their own entrances, to the smaller but still beautiful Wee Room, Wee Front , Robbie and Blue rooms- we have a room perfect for you. Mixing Tradition with the Modern

Reviewed By GKTravellers

The hotel mixes the old with the new in a quiet location a couple of miles from the sea at Sandhead. The bar, lounge and reception are traditionally furnished while our bedroom had been renovated with modern furnishings and a few old pictures. Our bathroom had a stand alone roll top bath as well as a walk-in shower with individual toiletries. The bedroom was bright but the big downside was all four pillows were either hard or lumpy and seen better days giving rise to poor sleep. Breakfast primarily consisted of the ususal cooked options with the only cold items being a small selection of boxed cereals.

Booked. 2 night stay, booking.com says house number 2 well it’s not it’s number 8 and we ended up initially going in number 2 (door was open so assumed it was because other guests had just gone in it wasn’t - dangerous for 2 lone females) Went all the way to the top floor looking for room 6 but there wasn’t a room 6) luckily figured out correct house number after looking at Google rather than the booking.com site but this should be corrected. GOOD -Room decorated nicely -Towels -Tea and coffee facilities (only brown sugar though no white for tea ) -Lots Of sockets BAD -Room FREEZING no heating at all, even with duvet and a throw still bitterly cold -Bed VERY noisy and squeaky -second night kept awake all night from person in room below snoring so loud even though we were out on top floor as was told no one staying here same time as us -couldn’t see numbers on key safe outside room without torch on phone as landing very dark -WIFI poor signal and only password written down so have to try all available and hope password matches one of them! -Booking.com gave option of twin beds in small double room but this isn’t available so we got moved rooms then had to pay extra which I think is a bit unfair when misled on booking page -this and the house number should be updated. -No bin in bathroom

Absolutely beautiful apartment with all the amenities and more even have an air fryer in the kitchen. When we arrived the children ran about the flat and could not believe how spacious it was. Really clean with lovely decoration it does not feel like you are in hotel feels very homely. The staff are amazing. I miss placed the apartment key and at midnight and the staff could not have been more helpful letting us in. The location is perfect with the harbour, town centre and park all within a 2 min walk and ample parking. I can’t express how lovely it is here and I don’t want to leave.

Stayed here prior to catching the ferry to Larne. At £55 Room only for the night I challenge anyone to find better value. Friendly welcome, easy parking, chalet style room was very clean and well equipped. I would make an observation that the bathroom is small but again is very clean. This property met all of our requirements .
