Reviewed By fanievandykHad a fabulous stay at Best Western Hotel in Takoradi, Ghana. My 2 days at Best Western was the highlight of my trip. Staff were efficient and friendly and rooms are awesome. Facilities were fantastic!!

Green Zion Gardens is not your typical hotel and may not be enjoyed by the typical hotel guest. But if you are looking for a slice of heaven and a bit of seclusion my home and guest house will be perfect for you. You will wake up each morning to the sounds of birds in my garden and then you will be treated to a home cooked breakfast and lemon grass tea grown on site. We have 3 rooms.

Green Zion Gardens is a relaxing and welcoming spot to come and find peace and quiet and to enjoy the sights and sounds of the nature around. The place is only a few hundred meters from Butre beach which is easily accessible through the path, so you can conveniently have the best of both worlds and enjoy the beach life as well as the quiet, cool shade of the gardens. The friendly host, Ellis, has done a wonderful job setting up the place by himself. He has a great passion for this place and a lot of improvements and decoration work have recently been done to create this colorful oasis. The rooms are very clean, cosy and functional and they come dressed in beautiful Ghanaian fabrics. The vegetarian food is delicious with a good choice of Western, Indian inspired and traditional Ghanaian dishes on the menu - we especially loved the veggie coconut curry! Just make sure to allow a little time for your order, as everything is cooked fresh from scratch by Ellis himself. There are also lovely fresh coconuts (picked straight from the tree!) and fresh fruit and fruit juices available. We really wish we could have spent more time in this little paradise. We made a good friend in Ellis and will hopefully return one day! S&R

Reviewed By janetowusuI really enjoyed my stay at Rhogem hotel. Very moderate prices for their services. They have a gym facility in addition to a pool service which is quite impressive. Very clean and serene environment. Not so many drinks and foods to choose from but I’ll definitely recommend to tourists on a low budget! Average customer services too, needs more improvement on the road as well. They need to employ more workers especially females!

Reviewed By 9bakehouseHorrific experience, rude staff and manager. Rooms double booked, the company are renowned for taking your money in advance but do not provide the rooms, so they can place you in even poorer hotels owned by the same company. No Wi-fi available either.

Reviewed By eemiiiliiiaaWe had a wonderful stay at Abuesi Beach Resort! The atmosphere is warm, open and welcoming. Really recommend taking a walk along the cost to the Shama village. The staff at the hotel was very friendly and caring. The owner Samuel made us feel incredibly welcome at his resort. He made us enjoy the stay at his resort to the fullest. We will never forget him. Thank you Samuel.

Stellar Lodge is 32 room and 2 x 2 bedroom suite hotel located in the heart of Takoradi, a 5-minute car ride from the airport and the port. Ideally located for a long or short stay, each of the rooms offer a great level of comfort and a range of amenities. All rooms at Stellar Lodge are air-conditioned and include an en suite bathroom with shower, a seating area with a flat screen plasma TV with a broad range of satellite channels, a desk and tea and coffee making facilities. Free Wi-Fi access is provided throughout.There is also a 2-bedroom apartment, which is complete with a kitchen area for those guests looking to stay longer. A full range of international cuisine is served in the onsite “Champs” bar and restaurant.Other onsite facilities include a fully-equipped gym and an outdoor swimming pool. Airport pickup and drop off is also available.
Disappointing and not value for money
Reviewed By swampy100I have stayed in a few places in Takoradi with various degrees of satisfaction. One thing you really want in a hotel in Africa is a decent air conditioning unit. I found the room hot, considering the air con was on 16 degrees, I put my issue to the team and they said a maintenance man would look at it, when I came back it was the same, I mentioned it again at 7pm to be told the maintenance manager is coming to look at it but he lives a long way away, absolutely poor excuse, it was never fixed. In the morning I felt the wall and it was very cold, I think is a simple matter of the louvre on the air con being broken and not putting cold air into the room, if I had taped it up then it would probably cooled the room, rather than the wall, saying that, they should have done that as well. Toilet was very grubby, no toilet soaps or shampoo. Champs is ok, breakfast omelette in morning was very good but very little breakfast left. All in all, I won't stay here again, not worth the money, considering local labour costs in Ghana it would be very cheap to turn grubbiness into something looking pleasing on the eye, lack of attention to detail.

They have a superb maintenance culture and cleans are super clean. I particular liked the bath rooms and the woody environment in the open air bar area. I will strongly recommend it. And oh, it has a clean gym.
