A former palazzo in the centre of town with rooms pleasantly furnished with a rustic stone cellar for private vino samplings. Everything is within reach and breakfast is included. Terrific for a night or two-day stay. Great value for money. If you are driving, make pre-arrangement for parking nearby.

A comfortable stay, albeit that some elements of its product need work.

The staff are certainly friendly and try hard to help. The room was clean, well air conditioned and the bed was comfortable. These positives elements aside, what lets down this hotel are the following: The breakfast was rather dire, having a very limited selection. Cold cuts of ham, plus tasteless rubbery cheese slices. They couldn’t even fry an egg (we asked) and, egg wise, all that was available was scrambled. The bacon strips could be used to re-sole one’s shoes. The croissants were rock hard (one can only guess that they were cooked the day previously). The hotel’s restaurant is not open on Sunday (probably just as well, if the breakfast is anything to go by) and there are seemingly very limited options to have food delivered from vendors outside (with pretty much all closed on a Sunday. That said, Deliveroo worked but took ages along with very limited options and when that food did arrive it was stone cold). It also seems that the hotel only has one iron and no ironing board (thus the corner of ones bed had to substitute for an ironing board). Only one small lift. No pool.

Very tired and seedy hotel. I can't even imagine this being a nice hotel back in the day. The room itself is fine. I'd suggest avoiding this hotel unless you're in a pinch. I gave an additional star because the staff were nice, and did a good job.

Great Hospitality, 2 stars Establishment

Reviewed By Eva_ManCHester100

I stayed at this hotel for a few hours 2 days ago with a group of other travellers brought here to have a meal due to an extensive Tui flight delay from Alghero airport. I would like to express my gratitude to the staff who were friendly, polite, cheerful quiet and efficient. They had to check the whole group in, serve us drinks, then serve us dinner. Some of the British holidaymakers indulged in classic ‘Shirley Valentine’ tricks – for instance asked for the plate of pasta to be immediately removed – as ‘I never eat pasta’. Such fun to watch ? Others were extremely moved by the need to leave passports at the reception, despite the fact this is the legal requirement in Itay. The Sardinians dealt with all that with grace and unusual dignity, not even once expressing surprise, horror or disbelief. And the food was surprisingly tasty. So – big thank you for helping us release some the stress that day. The hotel itself is sadly very run down, although clean. I would not give it more than 2 stars, however 5 starts for the staff.

A wonderful Christmas

Reviewed By Christopher M

The room was very comfortable and the inclusion of a smart TV, complete with Netflix and YouTube really made it a 'home from home' at Christmas. The ensuite bathroom is well designed, with a huge shower. The room was cleaned to a very high standard every day and so nicely presented, that the hard work that went into achieving it definitely deserves a mention. We were incredibly impressed by the attention to detail, superb home-made delights that we received for breakfast every day and some Christmas surprises. We would definitely book a room in this very special place next time we are in Sassari.

Great location and a delight

Reviewed By Camper585720

My wife and I stayed here for seven days in mid-April. The hotel has been cleverly and tastefully rebuilt from an original structure and is a delight. It is situated just off a main Piazza which is a delight in itself. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. The hotel is clean and well maintained. It is situated in the heart of Sassari, close to all the main sites and amenities. Parking is easily obtained nearby. The host was extremely helpful and nothing was too much to ask. The breakfast was excellent - plentiful and varied each day. We would thoroughly recommend this Locanda - the best place to stay in this interesting city.

Best b&b in Sardinia

Antonella and her b&b was beyond my expectations, truly a wonderful and memorable stay. The welcome was so warm it was like going to see your favourite family member... beds were comfy and rooms were spacious. The breakfast was truly authentic and fantastic Italian coffee on tap made by the wonderful Antonella, a truly lovely women. Everything was immaculate from the bed sheets to the bathroom. we asked for our washing to be done three times in 5 days and it was folded and ironed on our bed by the end of each day. Nothing was to much trouble ( and we have a very demanding young family) We will definitely be going back when we visit. Thanks again and see you soon. Julian and alexia

Very basic, had terrible trouble getting the door to open. In a residential area so lots of supermarkets.Stayed 2 nights. Reception staff nice but were not able to help much when the booking was wrong. Wanted a twin room and we got a double.
