Sabah Hotel was rank on top 3 hotels in sandakan based on trip advisor. I was recently went Encore for karaoke with friends, once we arrived and book our room the reception tell us that they only accept cash as the method of payment. How can be ?? This is not years 90s or 00s. Since we are living with advance technolgy the management should be improve their quality of services such as variety of method payment(credit or debit card, QR pay, grab pay) and now days we all not carry such big amount of cash. Even small vendor of food panda patner owns variety of payment method. Please take note.

I give 5 stars not because of it is 5star hotel but it is worth it with the price that you pay(walk in price is better). It is clean, have water heater, toiletaries(toothbrush is not provided, bring it on your own). The room is not that spacious but it is acceptable. Both of receptionist are good and polite. I want to have activities in the city center, so i tried one day in this hotel then i tried the other hotel in the city center. I found out that this hotel is more worth it. The third day i came back to stay at this hotel. I wonder if Covid19 really took a toll to the hotels in the city center...Many hotels are old and some are already closed. If you are searching for good hotel with good price in city center to me this one is a good bargain and have many parking lots. Im not sure the rooms have how many colours?? My first stay is in orange.(I didnt like orange much and the room looks dim and romantic.i prefer blue colour?) Some minor defects in this room that i found like the window cannot open and the curtain is stained). My second stay is blue. (I love blue). This room is ok for me. No defect only the water heater i need to let it for a while to become hot water. Overall, im satisfied my stay with the paid price. Thank you. (*** My review is for city center hotels only which is not comparable with other hotels in bandar indah for example or other sides of area in sandakan)

Good hotel, bad (too busy) location

PROs..... Love the hotel setting.....courteous & prompt staff& service. Clean big enough rooms. Rooms with smart TV, so can watch YouTube...and Netflix (sign in own account). Equipped with mini fridge. We asked for an extra pillow, it was sent in 10mins. Same, when we asked technician to help check air cond setting. Very responsive staff. CONs... The area is messy & crowded. Roads narrow, limited public parking (coupon parking fees). Day1, we parked in front of hotel with 24hr Hotel security guard but the next few days City Hall officers instructed to vacate all vehicles to make way for more Ramadhan Bazzar stalls. If you rely on GRAB, it will be less an issue BUT it is still incredibly crowded! 12 April 2022

Good hotel

Stayed here on the 22nd July. Good location, nearby the famous eatery in tmn Kim fung Market. Just a 5 minute walk. Nearby kfc, pizza hut, a Bank and many shops. The rooms are clean and updated. Staff are friendly and helpful. Check in was a hassle though, likely due to covid19 restrictions. Overall very good for a budget hotel.
