Outstanding stay with a superb host
Reviewed By Ian441672We had a lovely relaxing 4 night stay in the spectacularly large and comfortable Turret Suite room affording us some sweeping views of the Perth city centre, river, mountains and beyond. Lots of treats in the room (and out of the room), Nespresso coffee machine, mini fridge, huge comfy bed, spacious bathroom with large shower and bath. The whole property is very well kept in its traditional surroundings, a log fire welcomes you into the dining area where a fresh homecooked and very tasty Full Scottish awaits you (or one of the very many hot and cold items on the expansive menu). We also had dinner one night, again all freshly prepared and presented as a fine dining meal, but in a relaxed and homely environment - the onion rings were fantastic also!!! Claire was an outstanding host, never intrusive but always making sure our stay was perfect and giving us plenty of ideas of things to do and see. She couldn't do enough for us and made sure our stay was wholly memorable - five star everything! One of the oldest hotels in Scotland, the deceptively large Salutation Hotel has been operating since 1699, with its decorative front windows and grand entry. There are 84 rooms at the hotel from which guests can select a variety of sizes and configurations from Classic Rooms, Superior Rooms and Four Poster Rooms. All rooms come with an en-suite bathroom, TV, hairdryer, phone and tea and coffee making facilities. There is Free WiFi in public areas and in Superior Rooms.The hotel’s conference centre is available for booking functions such as banquets, weddings and meetings with the team to service requests. Reviewed By 22vanessarThe name and photographs portrayed a very different hotel from what we stayed in. The staff are all very friendly. But the hotel itself is tired and run down. It has an unpleasant smell and made me feel queezey. Our room felt like something from Butlins. Nice bed but that’s it. The breakfast was awful too. Bananas were way best their best, the porridge was stodgy and the cooked food obviously reheated. Very poor! I would not go back here!!

On arrival we asked if we could check in early and they said we could at 12:30 (meant to check in at 16:00) We had a wedding on an afternoon near Perth, so the hotel really helped us out. They didn’t charge us for the early check in either Lovely dark room, spacious room & bathroom Nice shower Breakfast was great, if a little noisy, but that’s not the hotels issue. Very polite and friendly staff Thanks again for a 5* night

Reviewed By Kevyn SGreat stop off point for travelling north and south from the west coast of scotland. Great hotel, next to a pub and with easy access to supermarkets nearby. Clean rooms, great friendly service and easy access from the motorway in either direction.

A delightful stay
Reviewed By D4121AQThis small hotel offers exceptional service and a wonderful location, close to the impressive Branklyn Garden and walks around Kinnoul Hill. To get to the city centre one can walk through the lovely municipal gardens and across the road bridge, or use the pedestrian walkway on the railway bridge, which gives you views of Moncrieffe Island with its garden allotments. The food is excellent with carefully-sourced ingredients. Dinner had been temporarily suspended but we very much enjoyed the quality home cooking on a previous visit. The guest lounge offers a comfortable place to sit and admire the view across the river Tay to the town, and as a licensed hotel a good range of drinks is also on offer. Bedrooms are very nicely decorated and comfortable. Unlike many places, there is adequate storage for one's clothes in drawers and wardrobe. I highly recommend Sunbank for a delightful sojourn in Perth.

Situated very close to the town center and a few minutes from both the train and bus terminals. The Townhouse has a total of 5 luxury bedrooms . An ideal spot for visiting tourists or an overnight stay in comfort.

Reviewed By James LThis was our 4th stay with David and Lauren. As always fantastic hosting and a warm friendly welcome. WE stayed in a different room this visit and the standard was just as high as the room we have used on 3 previous visits. Decor was in keeping with the charm of the building and the modern touches made it a very pleasant visit. On arrival the fresh scones with jam and clotted cream and the huge variety of teas and coffees provided in the room are just one example of the attention to detail and thought that has gone into creating a fantastic atmosphere that when you leave you just can't wait to return. Breakfast is amazing and the hollandaise sauce on the eggs florentine was the best my wife has ever tasted. She sets a high bar so well done David and thanks again for your excellent hospitality.
