Excellent food, lovely place staff lacks training
Reviewed By semagoraThe best food we had in Slovakia and the most beautiful hotel in Nitra. The staff seems however very young and untrained, in restaurant service and in general. Because of this, our stay did not run as smoothly as it could have. We did not always get the correct information and the coordination could have been better. Also, there are no single rooms, which makes it a lot more expensive for a person traveling alone, as you also pay for 2 breakfasts.

Best hotel in city center
Reviewed By tasertseNot cheap, but offers everything you need. The room is clean, good sound insulation, powerful air-con to keep the room cool even in hot summer. It's close to the city center at 10 mins walking, although surrounding area does not seem well maintained. The sauna works fine, but pool is a bit tiny, luckily jets are available to enable a continuous swim.

Awesome and welcoming place
Reviewed By Floor01I sadly spend only one day in Nitra Glycerin hostel, but it was an awesome place to be. Valentina, the hostess, was really welcoming when I arrived. She opened early for me and gave me great recommendations about where to go in Nitra. The hostel itself felt directly like home, has a simple but clean and comfortable dorm room and a nice living room, with all walls painted with funny picturesy that you can keep looking at. It's only a small walk away form the city park or center (15-25 minutes or so) and that is really worth it compared to an anonymous hotel room!

Reviewed By AdityaDeoIf you get it for 50 Euros per night, it is one of the best hotesl out there in NItra. Very clean and neat. Staff is very friendly. I did not stay there but i had a booking which I had to cancel as I had to travel back.However I visited the place and I would definitely stay there next time

The breakfast was good and sufficient. I stayed here 3 times for average 15 days in each trip. Between 47-60 euros, it is a good place to stay.Within 200mtrs

Average hotel experience in great location
Reviewed By richardbP1148ZIHotel has a great central location, ca 15 minutes from the bus station. The street is quite silent and one feels quite safe. Common rooms (entrance hall, bar, restaurant) look very nice and exclusive. Room was clean and bathroom really large with spacious shower. However, there were quite many minuses: - breakfast - various cheap kinds of cheese & salami, ham; healthier alternative to bread & bread rolls, such as whole-meal bread/buns/baguettes were missing; no lactose-free milk or alternative available; nothing special for sweet breakfast (at least some fresh croissants should be a standard); only one jar of fresh water, otherwise ca 6 jars with flavored drinks (some juice, mineral water and at least lactose-free milk would be more appropriate) - basically the whole breakfast offer was quite disappointing and not appropriate to a 4 star hotel in the city center - staff - very nice & friendly, but for the whole stay completely ignored the requirement to use the face masks in the interior (and of course, then also majority of guests didn't care at all) - room - i would expect a hotel of this level to have a net against insects on at least one window, so that I don't have to spend the night catching mosquitos instead of sleeping (true story); another thing is - lift has glass walls from which you could see directly to our room & bed (not exactly what you are hoping for when booking a hotel) - you can of course close the blinds, but the the room gets totaly dark (and actually one blind was stuck so i couldn't get it completely down) - services - as many hotels also this one offers you complimentary products like shampoo & body lotion, however shampoo was so small that it wasn't almost enough for 1 use and I didn't get a second the next day. Instead of shower gel was provided only soap. We also requested iron, which was bit dirty (someone probably over-ironed some clothing) and my shirt got dirty as well as I didn't notice it. I tried also using the safe in the room, but couldn't get it to work with the provided manual. All in all, the stay was acceptable, but I won't be coming back to this hotel again.

Disappointing experience
Reviewed By Isabella CI have traveled to Nitra in the end of October 2017 and I stayed in this hotel for one week, from Monday to Friday. The hotel is nice, it has a good location, the food is good and at a good price, but beside this, the experience I had was not a good one. I forgot one shirt in my room, but as soon as arrived home, I called them telling about my forgotten item. They replied to me by email saying that the shirt was found and I was very happy about it, one of my colleague was supposed to travel to Nitra the coming week, so I asked them to give my shirt to him. Weird for me, but after confirming that the shirt was found, in less than 2 days, the same shirt suddenly disappeared, and the answer I got again from the hotel was that the shirt was thrown away by mistake. I can not image such kind of mistakes in a 4 stars hotel. The shirt was almost new, not a cheap one and it did not look like something needed to be disposed. They do not have a special place in the hotel where the things forgotten by customers are kept? I am sure I am not the only one who forget something in hotels. If I am, than I am a bad exception. Unfortunately, this was not the only bad thing in my one week stay at this hotel. I arrived on Monday evening (30.10.17) at the hotel and I found a dead bug in my room, (I also attached the pictures). True, I moved the refrigerator few centimeters to make some more space (it was too far from the desk) and I found that dead bug. I was not very shocked, since it was under the refrigerator; I was thinking that the cleaning lady is not moving the refrigerator every day to clean under, but I left the bug there on purpose, because I was thinking that somebody will come anyhow on Tuesday to clean the room and the bug will be removed. But no, Tuesday evening when I came back, the bug was still there, even though it was clear that the cleaning lady was in my room, my towels and my bed were arranged differently than I left it. I told about the bug to reception and they say that will fixed it. Yes, they did fixed it, but next day, on Wednesday. They even did not bother to say "sorry about that". Another issue I had in the hotel was during one of the dinners in the restaurant's hotel. I was approached by a restaurant customer who came uninvited to my table (together with his beer) and start to talk with my in Slovak, even though it was obvious I do not speak Slovak language an I did not want his company. I have to thank to the man who was waiter in that evening, who noticed immediately the situation and help me to get rid off the unwanted guest. With all this, the attitude of that customer when it was asked from him to leave my table was not friendly at all and was bothered that I do not want his company. When the waiter was not there, he was keep telling me things in Slovak I could not understand, obviously to show his discontent. It was an awkward situation which made me feel uncomfortable. I was choosing the restaurant of the hotel because the food is good, the waiters are really nice, but also because I thought it is a place where I am safe in the evenings, being a single women in a foreign country with a language I do not speak. What happened showed that it was not like that. I informed the reception in that evening what happened, but I did not hear nothing from them, even though they said they will inform the management. I do not know what can be done in such situations, it is quite difficult to select the restaurant customer, but the the disappointment was their lack of reaction. I am not a capricious customer, I am not trying to create problems, on the contrary, I ignore the small flaws where they exist, but I can tell you that it is first time when I have such issues in a trip which left me with a bitter taste and disappointment. I will never go to this hotel again, even if I travel here from another town.

Reviewed By Daciel YI only needed to stay a night and it was OK for what I paid. I just didn't like the smell in the toilet in the morning and WIFI was on and off sometimes. It's really easy to find, just a few blocks away from the main square. It's OK for a short stay.

The staff are more than friendly, the manager, Jana, is extremely accomodating and very pleasant. Breakfast is very nice and it has a quiet, nice bar downstairs which is great to visit. Reviewed By Craig EStayed here for a week on business..Front of house looks good..Very clean and of the staff that I have seen are polite and helpful..This gaff is in the middle of no where..Nitra is an industrial town so don’t expect too much..Breakfast is ok at best,and for an evening (knife and fork) again is ok..I would suggest looking for the galleria which is a couple or three miles down the road,and a lot cheaper..It’s not expensive in the hotel but it’s a little limited and poncy when it doesn’t no to be..Wall are paper thin in the rooms so might here the odd snore
