Nice Hotel But Too Much Cigarette Smoke
Reviewed By AgGirl1Had an opportunity to spend three nights at this hotel. The room had some good features and not so good. The bed and linens were good. The toilet was a bidet toilet which was state of the art and excellent. The shower was good but it was leaking through to the bedroom wall and there was mould in the wall as a result. Heavy cigarette smells and people smoking in the hall and in the rooms even though there were no smoking signs posted. Not great. Food in the hotel was very good, no North American food which was fine for me as I really enjoyed exploring the generous, clean buffet. People didn’t smoke in the restaurant (thank goodness) Restaurant was clean and the main hotel areas were also clean and had water features that were populated with Coy. Most staff do not speak or understand English but I managed to get by on hand signalling and gestures. The hotel was a nice spa with tons of amenities. If you are a shy Canadian the level of nudity can be at first a little disconcerting. I had a massage and cupping treatments. Some of my colleague indulged in a foot massage.

Poor service and crumbling facilities
Reviewed By TaschardOur booking here was arranged by local family who had a very difficult time with Hotel staff and would have given up were there any other options at the time. We experienced the same appalling service throughout our stay. Reception is on the 7th floor and were far less than inviting. The usual pantomime of being unable to find our eLong reservation as they had taken in another booking at a higher rate, and only later finding it "under another name" after calling eLong was rather more protracted and unfriendly than usual. The facilities didn't meet their claimed 4 star rating. The air conditioning in our room didn't work, and plainly hadn't for some time as water was dripping from it and running along the ceiling and down the walls where ancient mould was flourishing and paint was peeling throughout the room. Housekeeping was erratic. Sometimes they would make the bed, sometimes take the rubbish, and only once replace the water. The telephone didn't work and trying to get laundry done through the reception desk using the usual hotel laundry bag and carefully filled in form in English and Chinese was met with indifference and refusal to the point that we gave up and found a laundry ourselves. Then they later tried to charge us for the laundry they refused to do. The lifts were intermittently operational and it was usual to have to wait 10mins. This was complicated by the fact that you had to use the lift to reach reception and breakfast part way up the building. Even with a toddler, infant, and pram to carry we had to resort to walking down more than 20 floors of stairs to get out. The general toilet facilities were bizarrely in the worst condition of any public building we visited! I can't understand how this hotel has so many positive reviews and would not return there.

Reviewed By MandytreeWe needed a twin room suite which was hard to find. At the time accommodation in Mudanjiang was scarce. A family friend managed to obtain the reservation. Sadly the place is old and tired and cleanliness of the rooms was very poor. Uncontained showers in a bathroom are most undesirable in today's modern world. We were here for 10 days and had to suffer the constant noise if major building works next door from before sunrise until after dark. The only redeeming factor was breakfast I would never go there again

Reviewed By svetashatОтвратительный запах в коридорах и номерах. Сами номера убитые. Душ расположен так что вся туалетная комната в воде остается. мебель старая, все в пятнах. Было неприятно находиться в номере. Номер выходил окнами на пешеходную улицу и в окно всегда светил, а днем и орал огромный телевизор на этой улице. Телевизор в номере был, но включить я его не смогла.

Reviewed By fanmq感觉贝壳很注重marketing，一看就是target customer是小情侣的情侣酒店 两家离得比较近，预订后到店比较晚无房，让我去另一家，报销打车费5元。也就去了。 女孩子比较喜欢的风格。但是房间结构比较奇怪。洗手池不在卫生间里。事实上，也根本没有一个隔开的卫生间。主要是由于房间靠走廊，卫生间靠窗，这个很奇怪。。。房间的窗是贴的一个假的窗。。。 好像整个酒店就一个人看，不过很惊讶的是“前台”gg都是超级大帅哥！两家都是。 离火车站也不算太近，也不算远，我在那种天气下走走也要15分钟，不过还是可以接受的。

Reviewed By Mani Rai CThis hotel is located in the main street of Mudanjiang, Taiping Lu. It's noisy outside but the hotel is cozy and clean. Stayed here three days and I don't have any negative things to say about the hotel. Clean and friendly staff, heartful breakfast and there's a pc provided in your room if you want to use it. But mind you most of the website doesn't work without the VPN in China. I would definitely recommend this hotel. One star missing for English communication ? no one speaks English.
