Absolutely lovely hotel
Reviewed By CornwallgurlRe-reading some of the reviews for this gorgeous hotel after my stay there I wondered if it was the same place! I was there as part of a Voyages Jules Verne holiday based on Lake Como, which blessedly did not attract a single supplement. It was early in the season, and the weather was only just starting to improve, but everything was open and awake after 2 years of Covid induced layoff for the hospitality industry. All areas in and around the hotel looked immaculate and although our group of 27 were the only guests initially, nothing was too much trouble for the charming staff. The Hotel’s location is wonderful – right on the lake, with a beautifully maintained pool and terrace area overlooking the water and mountains. It is a stone’s throw from the boat pier/landing stage and from an incredibly useful little supermarket. The attractive village of Menaggio (where real people live, work and commute) is a few minutes walk. I didn’t request (or get – the room fairy didn’t smile on me this time!) a lake view room, but my large, well-appointed one overlooking the carpark and road was not noisy with the double-glazed windows shut - and I’m deaf anyway, so didn’t hear anything even with the window open. A few things in the room which stopped working were fixed quickly, except for the safe, which I suspect will need replacing. The heating was cranked up incredibly high and I did struggle to get the temperature down to an acceptable level for sleeping (hence the open window). There were adequate sockets, the toiletries in the bathroom were copious, and the hairdryer, almost uniquely for a hotel one, was efficient! (Which was as well as I’d made a decision to leave mine behind). The Wi-fi came and went a bit, and there was clearly a bandwidth problem, but it was more than good enough to pick up and send emails and messages. I loved the décor – perhaps not so much the frilly voile Austrian blinds - it was definitely in the maximalist Italian style, but everything was clearly well thought out and designed and the public spaces were impeccable. It was a blessed relief from the identikit minimalist monochrome look. The bar was always open in the evenings (lunch had not yet started) and the large and light filled dining room was very well managed by a professional team. Breakfasts were outstanding and the dinners generous, varied and tasty. The dinner and breakfast timings were extremely generous. I’d booked 4 nights of dinners and when I had an extra couple, reception notified me to check and only charged me the VJV rate, not the advertised one, which I was most impressed by. This was my first holiday abroad since the start of the pandemic, and I could not have enjoyed it and the hotel more. It was starting to fill up with pre-Easter visitors and families the day before I left, and I hope this delightful hotel has a successful season to make up for the last two years - it deserves it.

Reviewed By Stephen BMenaggio does not have a major tourist attraction and is consequently less crowded than most other tourist destinations in the region. Hotel du Lac is a small family run hotel located in a square and overlooking Lake Como and opposite the town, Bellagio. It is situated next to an excellent outdoor restaurant and about 10 minutes walk from the ferry. The town supermarket is right next to the ferry and actually not all that obvious. We had a good room in the hotel annexe with a view of the square and of the lake. The room was scrupulously clean and the bed was comfortable. Excellent breakfasts were served outside in the square - weather permitting. The staff were all most helpful and spoke sufficient English. A recommendable restaurant nearby is La Grolla ( about a ten minute walk away from the hotel and further away from the ferry. The square could be a bit noisy, but shutting our room window restored peace. I would recommend this hotel to friends and family.

There are no other restaurants in the village and we were told the restaurant is booked out for the dinner, so although hotel guests, we were left without dining possibility. In the morning, during breakfast I was moved out from my chosen table by a waiter because the table was "booked"... The waiter did not prepare the other table for us so we were missing coffee cup etc. Breakfast was OK, although no veggies (no tomato or cucumber).

Lot of false advertisement

Cant recommend this anyone. For the price they charge for the measly breakfast i could ve gone to a restaurant and enjoy real italian coffee.

The hotel is in a beautiful spot with amazing views over the lake and a really charming Mediterranean garden and the staff were friendly and welcoming. Everything we could have wanted.

Spacious Rooms, Gracious Host
Reviewed By June DMenaggio usa gem of a place and this hotel is a gem of a place. Fabulous location and so much more. We took a two-room double designed for up to 4 people. Large rooms, large bathroom, 2 TVs for cartoon viewing in one room and World Cup in the other. Overlooking the main square and the lake, the hotel is right where all Menaggio’s laid back action is. The hotel is one of two hotels owned and operated by the same family. Luigi, the proprietor runs he place with elegance and grace. We arrived late and he gave us th keys and told us to check in in the morning. The charge for Use of the hotels indoor parking lot is the same as the rate set by the municipality for stree parking.. Breakfast wasn’t included in the price, but was available at the cafe of the sister property, the Hotel du Lac, located in the square. We enjoyed Menaggio and enjoyed our room immensely.

Nobiallum is a precious and antique villa completely refurbished and renovated with a fantastic view of the lake. It's located in front of a lovely beach and a harbor and is a 10-min walk from all the shops, swimming-pool, mini-golf, restaurants. The bedrooms are all very stylish, with new bathrooms and a beautiful Lake view.

She promised she would cancel my internet-payment. She did not. And she has not reimbusted me afterwards. She seemed so friendly so I was fooled!! Stay away!!!

La struttura è dotata di camere private grandi e silenziose, la maggior parte con bagno privato,di un giardino immerso nella pace, di un barbecue e una piccola cucina a disposizione degli ospiti e parcheggio privato. Gli ospiti del Peace Lodge possono usufruire dei i servizi dell’Ostello principale (bar e ristorante con terrazza vista lago, noleggio biciclette, bici elettriche e canoe, lezioni di cucina, ping pong e calcetto, eventi speciali, ecc.).
Excellent value for Lake Como
Reviewed By Guy TFor the very reasonable price we paid, accommodation was fine; our room was large with a good sized bathroom. Great view of the lake and surrounding mountains from both the room and the bathroom. Included breakfast was good and we ate every morning outdoors in a lovely garden. I'd return anytime. This is not a typical hotel, it is part of a hostel complex but up a notch from same. Hence difficult to rate properly as a "hotel".
