The 10 best hotels in Liverpool, United Kingdom

August 6, 2022 Florencio Paulino

Liverpool's fortunes have historically been tied to shipping. But imports and exports like sugar, spice and tobacco pale in comparison with Liverpool's most famous export of all—the Beatles. Relive the hysteria at the Beatles Story Experience, and check out Paul's childhood home, but also leave time for exploring Liverpool Cathedral and the Walker Art Gallery.

So friendly

My daughter and I had a fantastic night in Liverpool, staying at the Tune Hotel. The receptionists were wonderful, especially Dreadlocks dude, who was fekin beautiful. There was a stag night staying there, but they were no bother. The beds were really comfy, bathroom clean. Plenty of power sockets, even a hairdryer was supplied. The only thing we desperately missed was a kettle. We would happily have nipped out for Yorkshire tea bags etc, but, never mind. Other than that, yeah, great. Highly recommended.

Great location great hotel

Stayed here for queens jubilee weekend. Great location Great Hotel Great staff. My only recommendation would be that there was an occasional "sewer gas smell" (soil stack?) In the main entrance area on ground floor besude the elevator lifts which was intermittent but should probably be looked into. Room was fine no issues at room level

Select dynamic mode, select launch control, look left and right.... floor it. That was us leaving the Shankly Hotel... Terrible experience. Dirty towels, visually unsafe electrical fittings, pat testing labels on electronic equipment 3yrs out of date, rendering them a potential fire hazard pending certification to be deemed as fit for use by a certified electrician. This was our initial impression of the room we were allocated. There was a musty damp smell of bacterial mould, the shower fitting had a gaping hole where it should have been connected to the ceiling, and the laminate flooring had chunks missing. We took into consideration that maybe we were being too critical and elected to return to reception and discuss what could have been simple oversights in routine maintenance. We had a cordial discussion with the shift manager about our concerns and she kindly offered us an upgrade to what I think was termed as one of the premier suites. We thankfully accepted the upgrade. Upon entering the "Premier" suite (room 504) we found much of the same: *Dirty towels (make-up stains, remnants of an insect on the towels) *Loose shower fitting (hole in ceiling) *Blond hair (we are both Afro Carribean) *Kettle, cups, general refreshment facilities in wardrobe *Cracked washing basin with clear signs of the enamel being eroded *Bin with 3 legs, but clearly needed 4 *Bin with battered aluminium lid *flooring inadequate, with gaps and chips that posed a tripping hazard. *Wooden board screwed to underside of mattress I would like to point out that despite the inadequate accommodation. The staff at the Shankly Hotel remained professional and courteous at all times which leads me to conclude that the derisory upkeep of Hotel is beyond the constraints of their direct accountability. "Well done to the staff. You can only work with what you are given"

Fantastic Stay

Reviewed By Catianna

Stayed at this hotel due to having a night out in Liverpool planned. Due to the inconvenience of having to rely on a taxi or cutting your night short to get the late train home, this is something we do fairly regularly, so I've stayed in a fair few hotels in Liverpool City Centre, but had not yet tried Innside. Based on my fantastic experience staying there, I felt that it was well worthy of a review. We'd booked a suite, but at check-in were informed we'd been upgraded to a townhouse! The room was beautiful, with stunning views of the city through the floor to ceiling windows. It was also very light and airy; one complaint I've had about a few rooms I've stayed in is how dark they feel and the lack of decent lighting making it impossible to apply makeup (first world moan, I know) but none of that here. I absolutely loved the bath robes and lounging around in the comfort of the room. In fact, both my husband and I were willing to sacrifice the night out so we could stay in and enjoy the sunset with a glass of wine. We didn't try the Sky Bar though we really wanted to, but it did seem very popular and definitely somewhere I'd like to visit in the future. Breakfast was served in the restaurant downstairs and there was a great selection of good food on offer. The staff throughout the stay were friendly and welcoming, with nothing being too much trouble. Overall I was very impressed with my stay at the Innside and I definitely look forward to staying here again.

Excellent stay

Location was perfect for a base. Reception staff friendly and welcoming. Our room was clean and spacious. We had a room with 2x double beds and a small desk area which was separate to the bedroom, this was a nice touch though maybe a sofa for something would have been good? Breakfast was plentiful and fresh. No bad comments or suggestions for improvement. Would definitely stay here again
