The staff make this place amazing

Reviewed By Mopsy14

This is a GREAT boutique hotel. The hotel itself is really nicely designed, the rooms are really spacious (we had a pool villa) and everything is a short walk away within the small complex. Is it perfect? No. There’s a few bits that could use updating or a bit of TLC but nothing at all that is unacceptable, I would assume the hotel is a few years old now. The restaurant and cafe served lovely food, the pool is well thought out, very comfortable with bean bag loungers and a call system to order drinks. But by far and away the best aspect of this hotel though is the staff. They are just incredible. It’s Thailand, so you expect friendly staff, but these guys are next level. We stayed with our 4 month old son, he was greeted at breakfast every day with an excited cheer of his name, they held him while we ate breakfast/lunch/dinner if he wasn’t happy (and you didn’t get the feeling it was because they thought that’s what they SHOULD do, it was because they wanted to). It was so nice. Special mentions to Antoine, the hotel manager, who genuinely goes above and beyond to help all the guests and to Din and Gro in F&B who were just incredible - although sectioning them out does seem unfair as, as a crew in their entirety, they were just faultless. We travel to Thailand quite regularly, it’s our favourite holiday destination, and with so many islands and so many resorts, we try to not go back to the same one twice. For this place though, we might to make an exception.

Koyao Island Resort

Our villas are built in the original Andaman Sea - gypsy style which is optimal for comfort and for the environment. We have used unique local resources with a traditional background while still maintaining, if not surpassing, all modern standards. The mangrove palm leaf roofs of our villas breathe and do not store heat, and air conditioners are definitely not needed. All villas have an undisturbed, spectacular sea view of the famous Phang Nga Bay and can be opened up to the stars at night - and in the morning the rising sun shines onto the beds.

Family Friendly Resort with a lot of Activities

Reviewed By Kshitij J

A proper 5 star hotel with big spacious rooms and an infinity pool. Offers a lot of activities for the family. The family beach villa is very spacious, has 2 beds but only one very open bathroom. The private beach is 10 steps away from the villa. The view is very beautiful. Biycles and Canoe(Kayaks) are available free of cost. Motorbikes/Scooters can be rented out. The staff is very helpful. We were greeted by the manager who is very friendly and helpful. The receptionists are available 24x7 and very sweet and understanding. The food at the restaurant is very tasty and vegetarian dishes are provided during breakfast. The only problem at the resort was the number of insects especially mosquitoes and lizards. The staff tried to help to sort this issue but it was practically impossible to do anything. Overall a very good and fun stay and would definitely come back.

Paradise Koh Yao

Paradise Koh Yao is away from the crowds, peaceful and quiet, only 1 hour from Phuket or Krabi, Thailand. It's a laid-back and close to nature setting perfect to relax and unwind on the 400 meter private beach, in the tropical spa and while practising yoga and meditation. Koh Yao Noi is unspoiled, largely untouched, set in lush tropical forest with a wonderful remote feel. The resort has 69 rooms, two restaurants and two bars. All of the exquisite rooms and villas are nestled in the tropical forest. They are spacious and private featuring a Thai style semi-outdoor shower and hollywood swing in the open sala living area. There are Jacuzzi studios and plunge pool deluxe rooms. The Pool Villas are just meters from the sea with a private pool and beach front garden. The main restaurant of the Paradise Koh Yao is nestled in a covered area among palm trees with additional seating on the open beach, looking out on the beautiful bay. In this wonderful tropical setting you will enjoy outstanding Thai and Western cuisine. The restaurant offers a great variety of fresh seafood as well as changing buffets and a tasty a la carte menu.

A little corner of Paradise

Reviewed By dentonsdestinations

We visited in December just as Thailand was starting to open up again. The hotel was wonderful pre-arrival helping use with documentation needed for the Thai pass, PCR on arrival & private transfers. We were collected from the airport & whisked off for a 30-minute private boat transfer to the resort. Our room was a Jacuzzi studio, set in the beautiful grounds with hornbills regularly seen in the trees close by. The room was had a rustic feel to it, with a lovely swing on the balcony & the jacuzzi bath took over 30 minutes to fill given it's size, it was lovely to sit in with the shutters open watching the birds. The resort is extremely remote so the only options for food & drink are within the hotel. However, The Paradise is interconnected with the Treehouses so you have the option of 2 restaurants & a bar in Paradise & a further restaurant & bar at Treehouse. The staff were wonderful with Faii at the Seafood Terrace deserving of a special mention. The breakfast selection could have been more extensive & the evening buffets seemed over priced for what they were, but the a la carte menu & Italian restaurant were very good. The 30 minute back & shoulder massage at the spa was wonderful & there is also the option to have it down on the beach which has the most stunning & uninterrupted views. If you are after a totally relaxing holiday that allows you to completely switch off this is the perfect place.

Laguna Villas........great villas!!!

Reviewed By Ncbcan

We spent a couple of nights at Laguna Villas last week and our stay was perfect. The villas themselves were the best villas I have ever stayed in........large, very clean, soundproof windows and soundly built. You will not find one problem with these villas. The location is perfect as you are only a 10-second walk to the beach and the breakfast is simple but very tasty. And several restaurants and cafes are within walking distance Laguna villas are the place to stay when you are in Noi and I would definitely return again. And the manager, Nancy (?) was the perfect host. She was very helpful over the telephone and during our stay and had a smile on her face all the time. Thank you Nancy.

Another flawless visit

Reviewed By lynamc

We rarely re-visit places but given the pandemic and the uncertainty associated with travel worldwide we thought that we’d go back to Coastal Escape. We were very glad we did as we had just as good a holiday here as we had back in 2018. You can see my 2018 review here… https://www.tripadvisor.co.uk/ShowUserReviews-g661285-d10783269-r565483568-Coastal_Escape_Koh_Yao_Noi-Ko_Yao_Noi_Phang_Nga_Province.html It is pretty much all the same, - well branded, full attentive service, luxurious villas, excellent food, marvellous staff, beautiful views. All one could wish for as a holiday destination. We were on our own for some of our stay but the other 3 villas all had visitors at some point or another whilst we were there. We’d been staying at the Amari in Patong to satisfy the Sandbox requirements for testing etc. Daniel had arranged a transfer for us, first by car to the Bang Rong Pier and then by speedboat right onto the beach in front of Coastal Escape. Daniel was there to greet us and show us to the same villa we’d had previously. In my previous review I mentioned that if the tide is low there’s a short walk but somehow in the editing I messed it up a bit. To be clear it’s a short 50 *metre* walk along the beach at low tide and not a 50 minute one. You can also transfer by public ferry or by longtail boat. In my opinion though, the speedboat is the only way. The villas and indeed the whole property was pretty much the same as when we were there last. Some minor changes in décor and furnishings and there was no drinks in the villa except tea and coffee. We didn’t care very much about that as the staff are only too happy to deliver any drinks we wanted really quickly, - Singha O’ Clock anyone? There was plenty of water supplied daily, - an essential in the humidity and heat. There’s a mosquito net which one should use as the little blighters caught us all more than once and mostly overnight. Coastal Escape has its own range of toiletries now and we loved them. I can recommend the Aloe After Sun, - lovely stuff! One is very aware of nature here. There’s the Geckos and we once saw a large metre long lizard ambling across the lawn but it’s the abundance of birds and butterflies that more striking. There’s one particularly loud bird called the Asian Koal. Very shy though and I never saw one though they can be very close. Again, the food was truly excellent. I can’t really say very much more. Everything was really good and they ran a full menu despite the lower occupancy. Frankly, I don’t know how they manage, - it’s all freshly prepared, delicious and served without delay. I strongly recommend asking them to get some fresh snapper or grouper in for you and have it with the three sauces, - Garlic & Pepper, Tamarind and Penang Curry. It’s fish as it should be. We didn’t do too much in the way of activities which is ironic when you consider that we’ve spent the last 2 years sitting indoors doing very little. We ate out at Sawasdee Kohyao restaurant one lunchtime. This was a lovely place with great food on an mangrove estuary to the South West of the Island. We enjoyed it very much and I’d certainly consider eating there again if the opportunity arose. This is an alcohol free restaurant but the freshly prepared juices were mouth-watering, - the passionfruit was particularly addictive. We had massages included as part of our package. We tried oil massages and one of our party had a Thai massage which did a great job of easing tensions. The little spa at the back of the property is lovely and quite secluded. We visited the Tha Khao Batik to watch them doing their beautiful Batik work and also to have a go ourselves. This was soooo much fun. They showed us the whole process from beginning to end and how paint, blend and fade colours. We were given some books with outline pictures in them as suggestions upon which to base our design. I choose some humming birds. We all really enjoyed this and I highly recommend you give it a go. Finally, we took the speedboat out around the Andaman sea one day, visiting some of the neighbouring islands in the national park and doing some snorkelling. We stopped off at Koh Lao Lading island for a picnic lunch. On the way back the weather closed in very quickly and we found ourselves in a massive thunderstorm. This was a bit unnerving but the staff were cool as cucumbers which was re-assuring. The captain put his foot down and got us into the shelter of beautiful Koh Hong Island where we were soon joined by a variety of other refugees. You enter through a narrow channel and it opens out into the most beautiful enclosed blue lagoon. Maybe we’ll see it another time without the thunder, lightning and sheeting rain. It was quite an adventure though! WIFI is excellent with speeds topping out at 350 Mbps ! This is the best I’ve encountered anywhere. I was able to do some emergency work by remoting onto my desktop in London with no noticeable lag. The staff were all marvellous and although we didn’t see everyone or catch all the names I’d like to give a shout out to Amena, Bao, Boom, New and Prem. I’d also like to thank the night watchman who was very helpful. I don’t think I can really add very much more to this. Coastal Escape is a great place for a holiday and I have no hesitation in recommending it (again).

There is also a restaurant that offers all sort of local dishes and seafood that were excellent, up to the point that we found better to eat i the resort rather than going out. Prices are very reasonable, excellent value for money.

Beautiful place!

Reviewed By Lily H

Most beautiful place - we spent just hours looking at the view, it never got old. I’d spent so much time looking online for places to go for our honeymoon that just before arriving I got so worried the place wouldn’t live up to the pictures - this wasn’t at all the case, the pool was larger than expected and the tent and all furnishing were so beautiful. Service was excellent, we were the last tent so the walk down to the hotel was quite long but we never had to wait longer than a minute for a buggy to drive us up and down. Food was delicious, and particularly nice eating privately outside our tent, something we did most nights. Easy to rent mopeds to explore the island and we found several great lunch places nearby. On one morning we did a boat trip organised by the hotel which was lovely (see picture!). Finally, hotel was really helpful with any requests we had, we were able to communicate via WhatsApp which was much more convenient and the hotel staff arranged our whole trip off the island to Koh lanta for us. Would definitely return!

If you are browsing for accommodation and want a really special stay, DO NOT HESITATE TO BOOK. We are still dreaming about this place. It’s still so small, only about 8 villas I think so the attention to all the detail in everything they do was spot on. The most glorious service from the wonderful ladies at the desk, and the guys who ferried is up and down the very steep hill. We stayed in villa 1, I cried when we arrived it is that beautiful. The view takes your breath away, the privacy we had was wonderful, especially for our honeymoon. The villa was so well equipped, bright, modern and spotlessly clean, with gorgeous indoor and outdoor showers. Massive super comfy bed and sofa. The pool was stunning and clean too. We had the most delicious breakfasts here brought up to the room, also room service one evening which was really good Thai food. They helped us organise a mo ped with side car which was an excellent and fun way to explore this beautiful island. It was also my birthday while we were here and the ladies organised a cake for me and sung to me too. It was very special. It was the most magical stay, enchanting place and spot in service, coming from two very well travelled people. WE WILL BE BACK.
