A bad hotel with dirty toilets and no water. A hotel that specialise in dishing out crap.
Reviewed By 813vinaymWas there with family a group of about 12 family members. Went to the hotel and found parking full board. Had to fight with the watchman to even enter the hotel. Went to the restaurant called olive, and found 2 tables occupied and about 5 tables with dirty eaten plates. Checked with the attending staff for tables they asked us to wait for 10 mins. So the family went out and waited at the lobby. In the meantime members used the toilets and found poop all over the toilets. Both ladies and gentlemen were exceptionally dirty. We were given tables only after we forced ourselves on the 2 attending staff. The tables were cleaned after several repeated requests. After we were seated they took 25microns to take the order. Nice the order was taken it took them 45mins to serve curds for the kids. Despite several strict instructions not to use green chilli, they purposely diced green chilli’s and used in the curd rice. The food we order finally arrived almost 1:15 hrs later cold and unedible. The check took for ever. And we had to get up and leave for them to wake and get the cheque. The attitude of the hotel owner and the staff reeks of communist mindset.

Very good hospitality from each and every individual that we interacted with from reception, restaurant, housekeeping, security etc; they were all was very courteous and eager to help. Ambience is totally worth the money, very calm, serene and beautiful. We enjoyed at in well-maintained pool also with 2 years Kid. Food was also tasty and not-expensive, good spread over breakfast. Only 1 suggestion: Timing of evening beach0side complimentary snacks should be min of 1 hr

One of the best Luxurious beach front & well spread out property in Kerala, Beautiful & spacious rooms , Pool villas & a fab Malabar 4 bedroom suite with a huge private pool (superb is the word ) lot of things for kids & adults to stay entertained from cycling to Kayaking , PaintBall , Zip line , Activity room , Huge pool to dip in & chill ,One of the Best Jiva spa to relax with amazing therapies & get Rejuvenate ,Back water cafe serves some amazing Delicacy’s , Breakfast spread is Grand with lot’s & lots of choices , ivory Bar serves some amazing cocktails, The best thing about this property is its Team.I would like to mention a few names without whom this holiday wouldn’t have been so special Amit Singh (GM ) very courteous & humble , he himself welcomed us & gave us a brief about the property , Shiju Nambiar ( Rockstar ) he went all out to make our stay so so comfortable & making sure we r having a very good time. Manu , Gopikar, supari From front desk for making our checkin & check out real smooth, back water cafe - Sharan ,Sadath, Pashupathi, Sujay, Rupali, chef Mani, chef maity ,Akshay ,ajil , vaishak P & Vaishak U, , sumod, Sukesh, Abhirag, Vivek ,Arun , Akhil ,Sreejith,Chitra gave us an amazing service & served us yummy food.Arun - House keeping , Deepu , Bharath & divesh frm ivory. I must have missed out a few names but I would like to thank & appreciate the effort made by whole team of Taj Bekal for going all out for making our holiday very special , also for making my Birthday celebrations a super one to remember.guys u all nailed it , we have some beautiful memories to take back home & will look forward to come back to Taj Bekal soon :)

Reviewed By Miyer22This is a top quality(top price) resort. We had a very relaxing nights here in May, absolutely huge room ,with an equally large bathroom. never stayed any where like it! But it has some faults that i feel make it hard to give a mark better than average. A disappointing aspect for such an up market and expensive resort was the food, there is no where else nearby, so you have to eat in the restaurant on site. We found the food rather bland and boring with not much choice. A real disappointment after so many nice meals else where. The comments appeals breakfast and dinner alike. The service how ever was good.

A wonderful vacation with Family

We were on a look out for a place where we as a family could just sit back and relax and cut off from the world. We stumbled upon Kanan Beach Resort in our search and decided to book it for our vacation. We thank our luck for finding such a gem. It was an absolute blissful and relaxed stay we would have. We liked everything about the resort but here are a few noteworthy mentions: Ambience , Architecture and Resort Layout: The resort is just by the beach, the cottages for the guests are laid out with a lot of space between them. The cottages themselves are designed and build keeping traditional local architecture in mind. We went in the beginning of April (beginning of Indian summer) but the cool sea breeze and the spacious rooms kept all of us relatively cool. Staff and Service: The staff including Prakash, Manu and everyone else at the resort were very helpful , kind, accommodating of our requests.We are particularly grateful to the staff for the services they provided over what was a major holiday weekend in Kerala. (Vishu and Easter) We are now definitely planning to visit this resort in future for our family vacation with possibly longer stays. Thanks Team Kanan.

Reviewed By myexperienciaOur stay at Poothali was super !. Located in the midst of village homes and paddy fields it provided the perfect location away from the usual hustle of city life. Poothali is tastefully furnished to provide interesting spaces for a relaxing stay. Our host Sunita and her family took really good care of us. She is an excellent cook and we had the most amazing variety of Kerala food !

Low on facilities but great location
Reviewed By Anand GThe rooms are decent. But only that much. The bath water quality, as we expect in Kasargod, is poor. The balconies give a good view of the town. There is room service but it generally is a pain. The staff at reception are quite good. The lift is a very cramped one. There is a restaurant in the ground floor but the quality of food is nebulous. The location is great bang at the old Bus Stand.

V Retreat - Bliss by the Beach
Reviewed By NishantReddyLovingly nestled between the Kavvayi backwaters and the Arabian Sea, we chanced upon “V Retreat” or “Valiyaparamba Retreat” - a gem of a getaway, far away from the hustle and bustle of city life. Located in Valiyaparamba Town (Kasargod District), Kerala, getting here is part of the scenic adventure. The nearest airport is in Kannur, followed by a 1 Hr 45 Min journey by road. Ideal for couples looking for a romantic getaway, or for groups of friends / Family who want to immerse themselves in nature for a few days, V Retreat has it all. The hospitality is impeccable, the cottages and rooms are neat and tidy (very important in seaside locales), and the landscaped Gardens are well maintained. The food is mostly the local cuisine, cooked with local ingredients…..Delicious and fulfilling!! While lazing around the whole day on the beach is the preferred option, those who want to explore the place a bit can go boating or kayaking at #Kavvayistories (a 45 min auto ride from the resort) or take a boat ride on the backwaters bang opposite the resort. A word of caution for those wanting to splash around in the private beach stretch behind the resort – the sea can get a bit rough in the late afternoon and evenings. Use the lifejackets the resort provides and make sure you are in a group looking out for each other as there are no lifeguards around. A big shout out to the owners and hosts Mr John and Mrs Shirley, and their dedicated Staff Mohanan, Raju and Gauri, who did everything possible to make our stay so amazing.
