A perfect place to stay

Reviewed By mrkuryakin

My friends very kindly booked a little self-contained room with La Dimora and it was awesome in almost every respect. There were some steep steps to the apartment but they helped me keep fit for my 2 week stay. Firstly, the location of the room was perfect - literally less than a minutes walk in all directions to lively piazzas and a pedestrian shopping street, and right in the historic part of the town. Quaint and picturesque medieval streets in all directions with some interesting architectural and historical features. There was a lively bar called 'To Beer' just around the corner with amazingly friendly staff. Despite being right in the thick of it. You could hardly hear the nightlife going on outside in the surrounding streets and I never had a disturbed night's sleep at all. The room was clean and comfortable, with a small fridge, sink and a small hotplate for cooking. A kettle, glasses and cups, complimentary tea bags, and some kitchenware. The bed was a double and, again, comfortable and I slept perfectly well. The bathroom was equipped with a great shower, sink, bidet and toilet, with toiletries - shampoo, soap, towels, toilet rolls. The air conditioner was a welcome fixture and regularly used. The TV was there but didn't get used as I just didn't have time to watch TV. The room included a table and chairs and a storage cupboard for clothes. The room was compact but perfect for a solo traveller or a couple who just needed a place to sleep, shower and to base themselves and travel out to various destinations. The rooms were regularly serviced - bedding and towels changed, and never felt intrusive or invasive. A small breakfast - coffee and croissant - was available with the room and served at a very nice cafe 'MAPERO' with outside seating and pleasant staff. I really enjoyed going there every morning. Corato is a great town in its own right - lively, charming, not overly touristic and well placed to reach other towns such as Altamura, Barletta, Trani, Ruvo and more. A perfect location. There's no train station but good bus connections and no problem if you're doing a drive around holiday. All in all, I loved my room and my stay in Corato and I wouldn't hesitate to stay with La Dimora again and I highly recommend it. If any of their other properties and rooms were as nice as mine, then there's not much more you could ask for. The staff were friendly and I have nothing negative to say about any of it. I fell in love with Corato and my stay with La Dimora only helped me love the place even more. Corato is a little undiscovered gem of a town. I felt totally at home there. I am definitely coming back!

Tenuta Vigna Del Noce

Amazing, luxury and traditional retreat. Outstanding staff

Reviewed By VRM19

We did a lot of online research before choosing this Tenuta. We are so happy we did. The building is a traditional italian villa fully refurbished set among olive trees. We stayed in the superior rooms on the top floor with private entrance and a fantastic terrace with superb views. The rooms are very spacious with balconies and everything you may need. Beautifully decorated. We stayrd in the rooms Lavigna and Noce. The tenuta offers breakfast in the bar or the pation. What a experience! Italian coffee with cakes overlooking the vinyard and olive trees. The facilities include a bar and a Spa. There is private parking on site. It is about 7 minutes drive to Corato where there are all sort of amenities. Ilaria is the best host ever, super friendly, polity and always with a smile. Being a local can give you fantastic tips about where to go. We enjoyed truly italian hospitality. Like a home away from home. The owner Tina is an amazing woman who has built a magic place. If you are looking for truly italian relaxation this is the place. We were a family of 5, 3 generations, including a baby. They provide cot, bottle warmer and anything you may need. The couldnt do more for us. An unforgetable experience!

Quiet Retreat

Reviewed By Laura H

We stayed for one night on our last night in Italy. The residence was quietly situated in the country. The cost was extremely affordable. The bed was comfortable but we could have used a couple more pillows. The room was dark & needed more light. The bathroom shower was a tiny claustrophobic cubicle that had no place to store your toiletries & no room to bend over if you put them on the floor (my husband is not a big man & he could barely fit). The included breakfast was meager & the pastries had been left out from when we checked in the night before.

Jubilee Hotel&Lunch

HOTEL An awesome hotel where every room is different in color and kind of music. You'll sleep in a jazz room or in a house room if you like this music. RESTAURANT Enjoy our typical Apulian kitchen, feel our first plate, meat or fish, some good brean oven cook, or if you want the best pizza then ever. Choose your wine or your beer, enjoy the flavour of our land.

A great place for a meal

Reviewed By Northopa

When asked where we could eat out near our B&B outside Corato, our host immediately recommended this hotel. And we were pleasantly surprised how good it was, in terms of quality and value for money. Our waiter was very helpful in suggesting dishes which are gluten-free and we enjoyed several courses. It was obvious from the sheer number of people arriving during our meal that this is a popular destination on a Friday evening and the pizza chef was kept very busy! We chose to sit inside to avoid mozzie bites, but most of the diners headed for the area outside which looked very pleasant. Although we didn't stay the night, I've no hesitation in recommending this place for a meal.

Loads of potential....but...

Reviewed By josephmG9436JQ

We're a family of 4, the kids being 5 & 8 years old. For our 3-day break, we decided to visit Puglia, and wanted an agritourism facility as our base. Casale Torre San Magno was suggested to us by our travel agent and we agreed on it after viewing some photos and their website, which looks particularly nice! But we were unfortunately disappointed. Upon arrival, Saturday late afternoon, the welcome was very cold. It became evident that we were not really welcome and pretty much extra work. Only the lady of the house seemed to welcome us! We weren't given an introduction to the people or the place. We had to squeeze out all the basic information we required and were left hoping for the best! However the next 2 days were a repeat....minimum interaction and no attempt at making us feel welcome. In fact we were the only guests. At least we managed to squeeze 1 dinner and 2 breakfasts from the hosts.....in fact, I actually had to ask whether they were struggling business wise or whether we happened to be visiting off-season....which we believe was/is the case! Notwithstanding, for my wife and I, it was more about our kids having a good time, and for them, having the opportunity to hand feed the animals, who were much more welcoming than our hosts, was enough. The place does feel a bit rundown, but nothing that a good solid week of work cannot fix. What I'm more concerned about are the lack of hospitality skills! They actually had a jacuzzi area, but we don't even know whether we could have made use of it or not! I'm giving them 3 stars because even though we left somewhat disappointed - we wanted and agritourism experience, even if for a day and not a cold bed & breakfast experience - we feel that this might have been due to a lack of communication from our travel agent and not necessarily from the host...yet we feel they could be a lot more welcoming and warm towards their guests!

Convenient, but disappointing

Reviewed By Chandolin

We stayed there as a convenient stopover before returning to Campania. A very nice room, but the television didn’t work without two visits from the very helpful staff. The elevator had problems on its way to the basement restaurant (lights went out, door got stuck several times). Dinner was minimal -- decent pasta with fungi, then a paper thin piece of veal with fungi or lemon, followed by a mixed salad. My husband called it an Italian Fawlty Towers!
