Another stunning meal at Gwesty! This time was the first time we had managed to stop for breakfast and it did not disappoint! Eggs Benedict with some seriously delicious maple Bacon!!! Yeah truly did not disappoint. Atmosphere was lovely & welcoming, as always, staff attentive & helpful when we decided to move tables & come inside. Everything clean & tidy, as expected. Was absolutely the best start to our day & we will definitely be back again. Easily one of the tastiest breakfasts we have had in Aber.

Premier Inn Aberystwyth hotel

First time staying at a Premier Inn since lockdown - standards have slipped!

Reviewed By BalletCathy

I was really quite disappointed with our stay. I've always chosen Premier Inns in the past for convenience and a decent room when travelling with family as you 'know what you are getting'. I quite understand that staff shortages must be one of the main reasons for the drop in standards, but everything from the car park to the room to the food was 'less good than expected. The first impression didn't help, the hotel looked tired from the outside and there was nowhere to park, after a very long journey, trekking around trying to find alternative car parking wasn't welcome. It wasn't cheap either. Just hoping the next one will be better!

Disappointing but lovely location.

This could be a fantastic opportunity for this beautiful location to sweep the board with great reviews. However, the food leaves a lot to be desired. First day the vegetables and roast potatoes were obviously old and reheated. Second day the raspberry Eton Mess was frozen solid and when we said it was disgusting the server just replied "I don't like it either" Every person who had it either sent it back (it was returned having been magically defrosted) or left it. Such a shame because it could be outstanding. We won't be returning.

Perfect MTB base ran by lovely people

Reviewed By 384ashg

Having first stayed here as a group of five mtb’ers visiting the local trail centre up the road in 2014, we have since revisited every other year with this weekends stay of 8 of us being our 5th year back. The rooms are perfect for a great nights kip, and we particularly enjoy coming back from a 20 mile mtb ride on the Saturday and sitting out in the beer garden still in mtb clothes enjoying a pint watching the red kites soaring above us. The food is faultless, I’d estimate in the five trips we’ve visited we’ve totalled over 150 meals served with not one being wrong/returned or not eaten completely. I’d like to thank Mark, Claire and Karen and Co for continually making us feel so welcome when we return, I can see why the webpage says you leave as a friend If I had to make one small criticism it would only be that the usual adequately fast Wi-Fi was near non existent in the certain parts of the hotel this year, only putting us out as in previous years communication amongst ourselves and calling our families back home with zero phone network was fine over Wi-Fi, wether this is a local bandwidth issue or the distribution around the hotel who knows, as I say it’s not the end of the world.

Beautiful stay, amazing location, great value, polite owner/staff, clean + comfortable

I’ve lived in this town for almost 2 years, as I am studying at the university. Unfortunately, due to the outbreak of the coronavirus, I hadn’t seen my family since I came here. My mom finally managed to book some time off and was coming . After looking around town for a place to stay we came across Maes Y Mor. We were surprised by the excellent price-quality ratio it offered and decided to book it. The lady who runs it is very professional and extremely politely. She explained the check in and check out rules and left our keys in an envelope by the reception for us. The rooms were very clean and spacious. They came with toiletries, fresh towels, enough toilet roll and coffee/tea stuff. They even have a kettle that you can use for a quick brew. The beds were very comfortable too and it’s so easy to sleep in them. My mom isn’t used to cold weather at all but all the rooms have heating that works which was a big plus as it made her stay comfortable. They made sure we always had clean towels and breakfast stuff. Felt very welcome and safe during our stay there. The location of the hotel is ideal as it is literally a stone’s throw from the beach and close to everything (cafes, restaurants, pubs, supermarkets, banks, etc). I strongly recommend them to anybody looking to spend a few nights in Aberystwyth. You will not be disappointed! All the staff were very polite and they even went out of their way to help my mom with moving her luggage. They made our stay memorable and she’s definitely coming back when she visits me again ☺️ Diolch yn fawr!!

Standard room a reasonable size for a short stay. Traditional decor and furnishings. Good choice of teas/coffees in room. All areas very clean. Reception, waiting and bar staff all friendly and helpful. Bit of a probllem at first to get parked as rear car park quite small but space in front of hotel soon became available. Small bar area popular with friendly locals. Reasonable choice for evening meal and food very good.Restaurant quite small so I would always book this, but additional eating area in lounge bar. Good choice of buffet items and hot food freshly cooked at breakfast. Brilliantly cooked breakfasts. Small garden area at rear very well maintained.
