The 10 best hotels in Andaman and Nicobar Islands, India

August 12, 2022 Hector Krause

Sparsely-populated beaches that give way to an ocean brimming with interesting marine life and coral gardens are just one of the reasons to visit the beautiful Andaman and Nicobar Islands. Ghandi Park, Sippighat Farm and the century-old Cellular Jail (now a pilgrimage destination) provide glimpses into the past and present of these peaceful islands with a mysterious and multicultural past.

Lovely property, great staff, wonderful stay

Reviewed By Krittivas

We spent five wonderful days and nights (in two instalments) at the ITC Bay Island hotel at Port Blair. On arrival we zipped through check-in while enjoying our refreshing welcome drink (famed Andaman coconut water). We asked for and received a complimentary upgrade of room. The colonial bungalow-style building gave the property an old world charm. The rooms were comfortable, the view from ours was scenic, the large and airy bar overlooking the bay a nice open place to enjoy the evening breeze over a drink. The restaurant, although multi-cuisine, can do better. But what stood out was the staff. A special mention and a word of thanks for Pallav, who took good care of us and met all our requests with a smile, making our stay a memorable one. I wish they also had a property at Havelock Island.

Barefoot at Havelock

Discover India's best kept secret - the Andaman Islands - at the Barefoot Group's first eco-retreat called 'Barefoot at Havelock.' Located exclusively on what TIME Magazine in November 2004 rated as the best beach in Asia, our small resort is set in rain forest and tropical fruit trees behind a pristine 2 km white-sand stretch of the quirkly named Beach No. 7 at Havelock Island.

If its Havelock it has to be Barefoot

We stayed at Barefoot for 2 days ( wish we had stayed longer). The location is best with a private access to Radhanagar each (Asia's best). The ambience of forest and cottages designed in native style are superb. Above all the staff is very courteous and friendly and the food is delicious. Couldn't ask for anything more!

We have booked highest category of room (beach Mansion: INR 18K per night). but it not at all worth it... 18K for just a room and Private Pool is not at all worth it. there is no Balcony or patio to sit outside. lights are so dim that it seems depressing. there is nothing special about the rooms interior. we didn't understood for what we have paid 18K. there is nothing special or complimentary you get for such high class rooms. It was total waste of money. they need to improve their service and room facilities to make their Also they need to improve their hospitality. Service was so slow and pathetic. we have to call at reception repeatedly for small small things. I would suggest if you want to book this resort then just go for their normal rooms.

For the money they charge, ITS NOT WORTH IT!

Reviewed By itsharris2007

I would term them as greedy new resort that is focused on every early buck than customer experience - From my experience, its not a great choice for now!!! However, they do have some hardworking staff who multi-task with a lot of struggles to keep the customer happy, yet!!! The following points are why one shouldn't book them right now for your family (esp. with kids!!!) -Firstly, they would charge you a bomb and push you stating they are running full and last room etc. Choose to escape that - They are very new now but may have to improve facilities and experiences, since they are a reputed group of resorts - Their property is quite small for a resort and there is absolutely no other activities beyond swimming pool - Even a lazy self like me during trips found it really challenging to kill time there beyond sleeping/dining - They are quite miserable for kids of any age since there is absolutely nothing to delight them during the stay - Food is good yet the spread could be more better in terms of the choices, again keeping the cost of food in mind here - Upkeeping flaws like a dark change room with no lights for pool, restaurant with no fans over that you sweat like crazy during meal are simple and silly flaws - there are no other activities beyond these!!! Tilar Silo is a beautiful small resort with good rooms, nice private beach and very hardworking staff.
