Bad Dinner Buffet, Smoking condition bad.

Reviewed By lnn70

My wife and I was staying there for 1 night on a romantic vacation. We prepaid a dinner buffet for 33 dollars but unfortunately that Buffet was with very limited choice of food and the food had dried out. We also prepaid a breakfast buffet for 33 dollars which was actually a wonderful breakfast buffet. We had a room that was very noisy at night because some aircondition motor was running and made a lot of noise. We asked them to fix it in the middle of the night but they couldn't and we had to change room. We had another room that had a lot of car noise in the morning and I think this is something that can't be avoided with this hotel. So expect some car noise from the street. I am a smoker and this hotel is a complete non smoking hotel.. Well except for the entrance where you are allowed to smoke but where people enter the hotel and that is kind of a strange solution. Because this hotel had lots of outdoor room, an outdoor bar and could easily have made space there for smokers that could smoke without disturbing any other people but the hotel prefer to keep smokers outside at the entrance, so these smokers could disturb all entering the hotel. That is a very stupid solution. If the hotel really dont want smokers then ban it fully, all over, or at least place it inside at a place where smokers won't disturb others and there is rich opportunity for the hotel to do that. I will say that staff at the hotel was very helpful and very nice people and the hotel could have potential for something much nicer if they changed just a few things.

What a Fiasco - POOR 1st Impression

Reviewed By tedbycroft

the check in process was fine, we thought; however, we learned differently after going to our room, changing into our swim suits and heading to the pool/beach. After unpacking, we headed down to the pool/hot tub! We quickly learned that a part of the pools were closed the two days we were there for a private event. No problem - we will get towels and head to beach because the pools that were open were incredibly full. Next step was to find where the towels could be obtained. We found the site by the pool where the towels were available, but when asked for our card for towels we learned that when checking in, no one mentioned we had to pre-pay to get a beach towel cards. So back to the lobby to get towel cards. We had no money nor credit cards on us as we were headed to the pool/beach. When we got to the lobby, the individual who checked us was available and we indicated we needed to get pool towels. She called her manager over to assist as she didn't understand what we needed. He said we needed to pre-pay $4 which would be refunded when towels were returned. We explained we had no way to pay with us and ask that they just put it on our bill that they just checked us in with not 15 minutes earlier. He said that was not an option. It had to be cash or credit on the spot. By this time the frustration level outweighed the desire to pursue the overcrowded pool. We went back to our room to change and go out for dinner. We came back about 2.5 hours later, went up to our room for the evening; however, our room key would not work. BACK to the lobby to get a new room key. When we presented our defunct room key and our room number/last name we learned that "We were not checked into that room" WHAT??????? Horrible 1st impression with this facility

Old and outdated service

Reviewed By santiagoo758

This is a hotel where I stayed as a child 50 years ago. Well something’s in the rooms have not changed. Everything is old and clunky and either doesn’t work or works in a suboptimal way. Example: the toilet paper does not stay in place as the holders are too old and the management too careless to fix them. Everything in this hotel is careless. The service is horrible and outdated. Makes you feel like a 2 star hotel. Amenities are non-existent and if you dare to ask for say, a toothbrush they frown upon you like if you come from outer space. They do have the best real estate in the bay and the best views, but it is truly a place to avoid.

Beautiful pool. Comfortable rooms.

Reviewed By Reen_Eduardo

We loved this hotel. We got a suite with a kitchen, and it was great. A good sized fridge for all our drinks and breakfast supplies, a proper stove and a microwave. We tried their breakfast buffet on the first morning, and it was delicious, but very expensive. So we justified the price of the room upgrade by getting basic breakfast supplies and eating in our room. Their pool is marvellous. The perfect temperature for our preschooler to stay in for hours on end, and fun for her to explore with hidden waterfalls, and platforms with fountains for her to experiment with and jump off. The waves on the beach were too high for swimming, especially with a preschooler, but we enjoyed sitting in the shade and making sandcastles. The nachos, fries and hotdogs were excellent poolside fare. The hotdog was wrapped in bacon, yum! Not very Mexican, but delicious. The pizza was just okay. The drinks were really nice, but a bit expensive unless you had the drink of the day (two for one) or waited for happy hour.
