Famous for Bourbon Country and horse farms, civil war battlefields and beautiful natural parks, Kentucky offers a delightful mix of experiences. You might begin in Lexington, where the 1200-acre Kentucky Horse Park is a popular attraction. The university adds exciting sports, impressive art and a vibrant student/professor population to the city. Louisville is similar, where renowned Churchill Downs hosts the annual Kentucky Derby and the Belle of Louisville, the nation’s oldest steam-driven river paddlewheeler, hosts enchanting lunch and dinner cruises along the beautiful Ohio River. Next, head south to visit Mammoth Cave National Park for a day of touring the cave (the world’s longest known cave), hiking and canoeing on the Green River. Paducah, Berea, Bowling Green – so many places to explore and enjoy!

The Louisville Quest is a sight-seeing tour, scavenger hunt and race, all rolled into one. Teams compete to answer challenge questions, solve puzzles and race from location to location in the least amount of time… all for fun and discovering Louisville! Once you glimpse the sights, museums, shops and history of Louisville, you will want to see more. Several routes are available, including our popular Bourbon Quest!
I went into this thinking it was going to be another boring team building activity. Could not have been more wrong. Imagine the amazing race. Working as teams to figure out riddles to get your clue to the next stop on the map. Riddles were challenging enough to be fun while not being too hard that they were frustrating. Highly recommend.

Walk Madisonville! is a brochure containing three walking routes in the downtown area. The walks, the Art Walk, the History Walk, and the Patriotic Walk, highlight the area and encourage walking for health benefits. Each walk is approximately 2 miles and loop so walkers can begin and end at any point on the map. Brochures are available at the Hopkins County Tourist and Convention Commission and online at https://tinyurl.com/walkmadisonville

Experience 19th century plantation life at this historic compound where you can tour the mansion or "big house," see quarters where slaves lived, visit a smokehouse and other elements of daily life in the Old South.
I participated in the Waveland Art Fair the weekend of September 7 & 8 at the Waveland State Historic Site. It was my first time exhibiting in this venue. It is well organized, easy to set up and load out, and the guests come to purchase quality art. The vendors are set up on the grounds around the beautiful and historic mansion under the trees. The Kentucky Arts Council provided music with several of their performing artists, and the atmosphere was very peaceful and soothing. I exhibit at several outdoor festivals during the summer and the fall, this instantly became one of my favorites! Charla Reed and her staff are friendly, well organized, and made us newcomers feel right at home. We are already looking forward to next year.

If you like museums, W. Main is the place to be. There are several as you go down the street. The most popular one is the Slugger Museum. There you can take a factory tour and see how baseball bats are made and browse the museum to see the evolution of the baseball bat. But there is also the Frazier History museum, the kids Science Museum and a couple of others as well. And there are several bourbon distilleries in the area as well.

This would be nicer when humidity is down a bit- was oppressive The city has done a great job with creating a nice area down on the Ohio to explore Paducah itself is a gem of a small city US Grant actually occupied it in the early days of the Civil War

This is great little area to see a ton of deer and very nice scenery in the middle of an industrial area in Lexington! It's not a huge place or a long walk, but it's surprisingly quiet for it's location. Would recommend anyone come out and spend an hour or so here!

Really nice scenery. Very clean. Nice place for a picnic. The hike was very scenic. There are quite a few stairs involved getting to the arch. There is a pretty scenic overlook that is an easy walk.

After reading reviews on the Dinsmore Estate, my sister and I decided to visit this historical sight. My goodness, what a treat! Our tour guide was so knowledgeable and gracious and encouraged us to ask as many questions as possible! We will definitely return!

The front of our building is a two-story red brick structure that once served as the jailer's residence. The rear of our building is a grey stone block jail with three very high windows that face west and east. We are located across from the local Post Office, beside the County Sheriff's department, and on opposite corners from the new County Court House.
