Newly restored Portuguese Fort
The Reis Magos Fort is located in North Goa area, it is a small beautiful and very well maintained fort, must visit although its a little walk from the main road . Reis Magos fort was originally a defence fortess and then later used as a jail till 1993 ... once can see the jail cells still , after which it started crumbling. then the fort was restored in 2008 with great efforts from famous artist Mario Miranda and the Govt of Goa, and fort is now converted into a cultural centre, besides being used a tourist attraction. We had real good fun and clicked a lot of pictures here It was really worth a while spending time here at Reis Magos Fort Must visit if you have some spare time ... you wont regret n kids will also enjoy n learn

Mahalaxmi temple is situated in the heart of the Panjim City. This around 200 years old temple has fascinating history, it is the first Hindu temple built in Goa with the contributions of devotees. Goddess Mahalakshmi is the presiding deity of the temple. In addition, temples of few other deities like Lord Ganesh, Shree Mahadev, Radha Krishna are also located within / adjacent to the Mahalaxmi temple. The temple is situated adjacent to congested main road, except roadside no other parking facility. The temple premise is not expansive; the entire temple premises are cleanly maintained. During South Goa trip, we visited the temple during afternoon time, when the temple premises was almost empty and hence could offer the puja peacefully. The ambience inside the temple was calm and blissful, we spent some divine time with the family. Necessary puja offerings like flower, sweets etc. are available at the small shops at the entry of the temple premises.

The fort was constructed in 1612 to guard against the Dutch and the Maraths It was a reference point for the vessels coming from European Countries at that time. This old Portuguese fort stands on the beach south of Candolim, at the shore of the Mandovi It was initially tasked with defense of shipping and the nearby Bardez sub district. This Heritage hotel is worth it's price for just the breathtaking sea views from it's rooms alone. But we loved our stay for much more than that - the rooms were spacious and tastefully done, the staff were friendly, polite and always willing to help. The experience was wonderful from reservation (thank you Saranya!) to checkout. The food was well made and delicious, enjoyed a lovely dinner and full complementary b'fast. But please do add a few more menu options for vegetarians at The Tavern. It was a family trip for us and the kids enjoyed exploring the fort and the trip across the river by the ferry to the Querim beach. All in all a very welcome and satisfying weekend break from the routine of WFH and online classes. A big thank you to the entire team at Fort Terekol Hotel.
