The hiking trail is 36 km in length and it starts at Liiapeksi, Kuusalu Rural Municipality, just by Peterburi Road and it finishes near Aegviidu small town. 2.3 km of the hiking trail is boardwalk. An 8-kilometre long nature and hiking trail marked with signs and maps where it is possible to enjoy both history as well as nature.The studies and findings of local native researchers and well-known historians record the rich cultural heritage of the area. In addition to historical objects Metsanurme Village and the vicinity thereof are also interesting to those interested in nature.In the middle of the hiking trail there is a recreation site located on the winding banks of the Keila River and provided with a shelter, a picnic table and a latrine.

President’s Hiking Trail

The "President's hiking trail" is a 10 km-long forest trail in Laane-Viru County that starts in Aegviidu and winds its way through Nelijarve to Janeda. In winter it plays host to the ever more popular "President's hike", in which Arnold Ruutel, President of Estonia from 2001-2006, also takes part. Did you know...? - The trail was named after former Presidents of Estonia, Konstantin Pats and Arnold Ruutel, who came here often. - The first President of the Republic of Estonia, Konstantin Pats, was the man behind the Nelijarve tourism centre: he came up with the idea and funded its construction. He also founded Janeda Agricultural High School. - Arnold Ruutel graduated Janeda School with the class of '49.

Nature Trail in Keila Joa Park

The 3 km long ring-shaped nature trail runs along the banks of the Keila River and through the park. There is an information board with a map and general information at the beginning of the trail and 8 points of interest with descriptions on the trail, which introduce the most important natural objects and the history of Keila-Joa Park. At the beginning of the trail there is a car park and a toilet. The trail has also been provided with benches.

In summer or spring is beautyful view on sea and on Pakri islands. There are very colorful flowers and you can find and eat strawberries

Viru Bog Trail

Viru Bog trail is 1 km off the Tallinn-Narva highway (E20) on the road leading to Loksa. The 3.5 km trail starts at the car park on the Loksa road and ends at the car park on the Kemba road. The shortest walk along the trail (ca 1 km) is from the Loksa road car park to the viewing tower and back again. The bog is a perfect example of this typical Estonian land formation and its flora.

Harku Forest Nature Trail

The 8 km long trail begins in the car-park located in the north-eastern side of Harku forest directly by Tahetorni Street and it runs along forest roads and rides. It takes 3–5 hours to complete the trail. The trail has been provided with several recreation sites, it has been marked with signposts and there are 13 points of interest there. The trail is ring-shaped and at the end it will come back to the starting point, thus it is possible to complete it in sections, e.g. up to Harku Manor. The trail introduces the group of dunes in Harku, different forest and marsh types and Harku Manor along with biodiverse manor park.

Vosu-Nommeveski Hiking Trail

The Vosu-Nommeveski hiking trail is situated in Lahemaa National Park and is 18 km long. It begins at the Vosu camping area and continues through to Nommeveski. You can also cycle along the trail – provided you are willing to push your bike by hand along the more difficult sections! You can stop at the Nommeveski barbecue area, where you can also camp if you wish. At first the trail winds its way along old forest paths before passing through the ancient village of Vohma, where you will come across the Tandemae burial mounds – the last resting place of the prehistoric founders of the area. After another stretch of forest the trail emerges at Joaveski and then continues on to Nommeveski, where there is a canyon and terraces.

The Kurtna hiking trail starts and ends at the Niinsaare holiday centre. A marked trail, it forms part of the Kurtna nature reserve and showcases a variety of plants, landscapes and lakes. The trail is 10 km long in total, and along the way you will pass by 11 lakes. You can also do a shorter hike of 6 km, during which you will see 9 lakes. Lakeside rest areas and areas for fires have been established along the trail.
