We were traveling through Ireland, Scotland, then Amsterdam. Somehow, our Amsterdam guidebook was left somewhere. I went to this bookstore on a very rainy Sunday morning to find a replacement. I was warmly greeted at the door & taken to the section on "Travel". I was offered coffee or tea which was very thoughtful. I was told I could sit to browse through the Amsterdam travel books. These types of stores are few & far between these days; this is a wonderful bookstore.

Well the name doesn’t do it justice ! What a superb two bedroom cottage / bothy? superbly hosted by John and Peta. This is the perfect place to stay in Falkland - we were just two but provided you don’t mind sharing the bathroom would be fine for four. The garden you are invited to use is delightful as are the owners, helpful and to hand, very amiable but never intrusive. The breakfast is just delicious - beautifully presented and enough to feast on all day. We had THE BEST time for four nights on first foray to Scotland for a very very long time, and couldn’t have picked a better base. And of course being on the doorstep of the palace gardens (house closed atm) was icing on the cake

A really surprising shop tucked away in Anstruther. Bought a lovely pair of front buttoning sailor trousers. Lots of non-gender specific clothing which is sadly so hard to find normally. Great service and delightful stock. Go and give yourself some time to browse.
