Eden Brewery

Such a nice relaxing place to taste some delicious beers. It's not too far from Mittagong town, or Bowral for that matter, with plenty of parking available, but you can walk it from the train station. The staff are so friendly and helpful on arrival, and they suggest ordering a paddle of taster beers to get a feel for their range. They do have around 10 or so beers on offer in schooner and middy sized glasses as well, and even a few takeaway beers if needed. They will also sell refillable containers if you want to take some home straight from the beer tap. There's a lovely range of beers here for all tastes, from light fruity beers to darker beers to a pilsner to a hoppy IPA, there's something for everyone. They also offer some homemade pies from the Gumnut Patisserie across the road, although you can just as easily walk over and buy any pies or pastries of your choice and bring them inside to eat.

Bowerbird on Argyle

Reviewed By Keithsgillan - Sydney, Australia

I use the Southern Highlands to break up the drive between Sydney to Canberra. What a pleasant surprise it was when I stumbled across this gem of a shop. The moment you walk through the doors you see the exquisite displays and you're greeted by their warm and welcoming staff. With such a wide range pieces available there is literally something for everyone. My comment won't do this shop justice, you must see for yourself. It's easy to see why it's so popular with the locals, Bowerbird on Argyle is arguably the best shop in the Southern Highlands.

Our first time staying at a winery, it's a perfect place to get to from Canberra. This old style homestead is a great couples getaway from the busy tourist spots. The winery host Michelle was lovely and the staff were helpful and friendly. We had a nice time wine tasting in the wine shed, it was hot in the shed as it was 38 degrees outside. A good selection of wine made at the winery, with my recommendation being the 2018 Reserved Cabernet Sauvignon. My wife preferred the Pear Cider made at the winery. The winery grounds are beautiful, with huge Pine trees around the Homestead and geese roaming the grounds as guard dogs. Breakfast and lunch are at the Cafe within the grounds, with the best inhouse roasted coffee you would get anywhere. A two night visit would be my recommendation to anyone and the bridal suite is my selection for the room. No TV in the rooms, its a good thing. But there is a common lounge room with TV and tea/coffee . Bowral is only 20 minutes away if you are interested in shopping. We will plan to go back soon with friends and family.

Private function - we had superb weather and food (some cooked on the open wood fired BBQ). Wines in the courtyard of the converted dairy farm overlooking the vegetable plots and farmland of the Southern Highlands. St Maur wines are exceptional. We sampled the Rose, Pinot Grigio, Chardonnay and Cabernet Sauvignon all Estate grown.

Had a wonderful day at SHW. Went for wine tasting with husband and daughter. Cassandra was so friendly and helpful. Explained all the wines and gave us a tase of the sparkling. As a consequence we purchased 20 bottles. Then went to their restaurant and had a delicious lunch. Caprese Salad, Scotch fillet beautifully cooked and duck gnocchi. Service by Evo and Wydia and Canadian girl was first class with excellent attention to detail. Very impressive. Beautiful atmosphere and views. Highly recommended.
