A gem - albeit with a couple of short comings during my visit.

Reviewed By ZiggySawdust

I've just enjoyed one pretty delightful night in a Petite Queen room (Room 15) while on my way to Burradoo for an important meeting. The Berida provided the fine level of comfort needed before a big day. The room had all the essentials: a good bed, nice decor, and a fine shower. However, the lighting is more suitable for romance than work: a three globe overhead fitting and two bedside lamps didn't provide sufficient light to work by. When you do stay, take full advantage of the restaurant, as the food is terrific. At night I had a lovely meal delivered to my room. The next morning I had the delicious buffet breakfast all to myself. However, when the docket for an order for an omelette was misplaced, I found myself waiting twenty minutes for something I expected to be delivered in five. When I did get the omelette, it was great, but I did have to eat it quickly, so that I could make check-out and my meeting. Despite these quibbles, I really like this place. I intend to return when the purpose of my trip is pleasure not business, and when both lighting and the speed of breakfast delivery is not a concern. If you're after a bit of luxury in this region, I recommend the Berida. PS: The only reason why I've rated the place just "average" for noise levels is because my room was right near that of an excited wedding party and many nearby doors were slammed during my stay, and several very loud conversations took place outside my door. It's the luck of the draw, I suppose.

Charming small hotel in old property

Reviewed By VirgoQualitySeeker47

The location of the Links House is beautiful being opposite the Golf Course with attractive trees. The bedrooms are at the rear down long ground floor corridors which are part glazed. The room (a superior double) was a disappointment it was cold and small. It had a small sofa between the bedroom and the bathroom where we could watch TV and there was a fridge. The bathroom was tiny although the shower was a decent size. We were staying on a Sunday night which is one of the nights the hotel does not serve dinner, we had a late lunch out and were looking forward to a cosy drink by the fire in the bar, unfortunately the fire wasn't lit and it was a dull wet day. One person was looking after the bar when needed and the reception phone. There was only one other couple in there reading so we went back to our room rather than sit in a cold bar. Breakfast was excellent and served at table and we were surprised to see how many people were staying, not sure where they all went for dinner on a Sunday evening. The staff were good and I would go back if there was a larger room with a larger bed.

Found this to be a very comfortable and clean hotel. Helpful staff. Room had everything we needed though the fridge was very small with no freezer section for ice. The bed was extremely comfortable for a good night's sleep. And a good shower. Breakfast was ok but basic but dining room had a nice view. My granddaughter liked the indoor pool I would definitely return

Peppers Manor House

Peppers Manor House is set on a beautiful Southern Highlands estate and provides an experience of life and leisure at one of Australia's grand country houses. Built in 1926, the house was originally home to the Katers, a pioneering grazing family, and has retained its original country charm. During winter, an open fire burns continually in the Great Hall and in summer meals are served in a leafy courtyard with drinks by the pool. Wake up refreshed and enjoy the views of the estate from your elegantly appointed room or suite. The setting is tranquil, the decor charmingly luxe. Highland Queen Rooms, Highland King Rooms, Garden Wing Deluxe, Garden Wing Suites and the Elizabeth Broughton Suite (in the original master bedroom), form part of the historic home, with an adjacent Garden Wing taking full advantage of the country views.

Special weekend that was a disappointment

Reviewed By chrisfG6173AA

Way over priced for a very ordinary facility. Rooms not special, No restaurant even though advertised, just meals you have to eat on your lap, bar not manned waited over an hour and gave up, plates from other guests sitting on coffee tables for ages, forced to take $40 taxi fares each way to find a restaurant, milk in fridge already open, no one around for the weekend to provide service expected and paid for. What was meant to be a special weekend away to celebrate a milestone birthday was a huge disappointment. Be better off buying a tent and pitching it in a paddock!
