Sevenoaks is a town and civil parish with a population of 29,506 situated south-east of London in western Kent, England. The population of the parish had reduced to 20,409 at the 2011 Census. It is served by a commuter main line railway and is 21 miles (34 km) from London Charing Cross. It is the principal town of the Sevenoaks district, followed by Swanley and Edenbridge.

First visit to this wildfowl reserve on a bright winters day . Lots to see and a lovely place being reclaimed by nature. Easy to follow signposted trails good for kids , aslong as they are quiet in the bird spotting hides. Circle walk not yet ready but will be a bonus when it's finished . Visitors centre is excellent . Carpark needs potholes sorting out . Great for all seasons visits saw lots of wild birds

I live in the US but I grew up in and around Sevenoaks, attending Sevenoaks School and generally frequenting the area. Much has changed in the intervening years (I am now 54) but, thankfully, The Anchor seems to have been immune. Whether or not you think this is a good thing is up to you, but I love finding pubs like this that still seem to thrive. I came here to meet an old friend from the aforementioned school days and we spent a delightful 4 hours. We whiled away the time sampling the wonderful Kentish Ale and delightfully, playing darts. Why did pubs ever lose their dartboards? It makes such a change to find a games area (there was also a pool table and a games machine in a separate area that also houses the only TV. This is great. It keeps the games and those wanting to watch TV away from the main bar area. It looks as though the TV is reserved for sports, and when the live sports ended this day, it was soon turned off. This is truly a throwback in pubs. You enter through the front door that is in the shape of a crescent, into the small bar where I was promptly greeted by Barry and engaged in conversation whilst awaiting my friend. All the bar staff with whom we interacted were similarly friendly and helpful. We borrowed darts from those kept behind the bar for our game. No frills here and all the better for it - I love places like this and was delighted to find they still exist. In addition to the good ale, they have a decent bar menu and I sampled the steak and ale pie for which they are deservedly renown. It was really excellent. Good solid pub food just topped off the visit, it was great. If you are a fan of the flashy, glitzy Wetherspoon establishments this is not the place for you. There is nothing wrong with them of course, but this is far preferable in my estimation. A lovely afternoon spent here post Christmas

Best coffee I've had in a long while. So glad they are open again for the lovely walks and cafe. Lovely just to browse the lovely plants and plan my garden.

A lovely point of interest to stop off on a country walk or if visiting Ightam Mote nearby. This is a very small, gem of a site- if you are looking for tea rooms and coffee shops then you will be disappointed. Nice story and some nicely curated local history pieces. The whole place is very peaceful and very genuine

I’d scanned TripAdvisor for a good pub restaurant in the Sevenoaks area that I hadn’t been to before and this place came up, quite highly rated and the online menu looked not too complicated but with a good selection that showed much promise. I wasn’t disappointed, the pub had good well kept real ale, the food was really very good, the service was first class and the restaurant comfortable. I started with mussels and they were, I’m certain, the best I’ve ever eaten outside of Belgium and a lot of mussels are eaten in Brussels lol. My main was a perfectly cooked ribeye with fantastic crispy chips etc. Dessert was sticky toffee pudding with enough toffee sauce to float a boat and delicious vanilla ice cream, although not quite enough of that! The rest of the food ordered at our table was met with equally enthusiastic comments and praise. Steak a tad expensive for a pub but all in all quite reasonable and almost faultless. Well worth a visit but be sure to book in advance.

All times of the year bradbourne lakes is a nice place to walk through and take the dog for a walk. A bit more maintaining by the council would be nice if theyre reading!

Came here during the latest lockdown in order to browse the Christmas section. There was a great variety of Christmas stock and reasonably priced. Ended up buying loads of stuff. The farm shop at the end is also lovely. In terms of safety there are social distancing measures in place and a one way system. They also take your temperature on the way in. Also have an outside takeaway service on hot drinks which was nice. Loved Polhill and will definitely be back. Couldn’t fault it. I went to nearby ruxley garden centre the day after, and I must say polhill is so much better (in terms of the Christmas section variety, prices, staff members and safety measures in place).
