Met an ex work colleague for lunch here and it’s a lovely place to shop for fine foods and eat in the cafe or restaurant upstairs. Not cheap but well presented fresh meals served by pleasant staff. I just had a smoked salmon & cream cheese sandwich with a side order but my friend had one of the daily specials of sea bream. Both dishes were superb and the deserts were irresistible. Great surroundings and will return soon to buy some specialities for my guests over Christmas.

Wenchford Picnic Site

Reviewed By EmmaJDunn - Stroud, United Kingdom

Visited today for the first time. We got there at 9am & had the place to ourselves until 11am! Parking was free as we have a 'discovery pass' but otherwise its very reasonable. Handy toilets on site & little cafe opened at lunchtime - handy for post picnic icecream! The boys (6&9) paddled & played with their water pistols for hours. Day was only ruined by an inconsiderate dog owner who selfishly allowed their three large labradors (not on leads) to take over the 'paddling pond' causing all the children to vacate to the grass. Will definitely be back during the summer holidays.

Soudley Ponds

Reviewed By suzisnowflake

What a lovely day we had here. Easy flat walk from the carpark. We took a picnic and a picnic blanket and found a nice shady spot over looking the pond, sat a while and enjoyed watching ducks, herons, dragonflies and fish popping their heads up now and then. People were walking the paths with their dogs but mostly we were undisturbed. A short walk later we were at the Heritage Centre where we had a lovely cuppa and cake. We will definitely return.
